There have been numerous prognostications regarding the reaction of the Democratic Party, but from what I'm seeing, the Democrats are in utter denial. Perhaps they might try to put forth a centrist "figurehead" as a bait-and-switch tactic to try to get their Socialist agenda a foothold, but at this point the pundits don't appear to have grasped the central point: they believe in and want Socialism, and we do not. Until they realize this impasse they shouldn't expect to win us over. Perhaps they feel that they can snooker enough people at the edges with misdirection, but like a vampire afraid to look in the mirror, they just won't face facts.

Their wild-eyed anti-Americanism doesn't help either.

My theory on Democrats fatal flaw:
They believe Religion, National Defense and Tax Cuts are evil.
That defines a permanent minority position. We see through every facade they erect.

Beautiful, simply beautiful. Shine the light of day upon the socialists and communists. Leave us be. That's really all we want, just leave us alone, let us buy whatever it is you make and join us in peace. No country has had the strength of America, and no country has been so selective in the use of their might. The left seems to think that if they keep trying their failed socio-economic policies, they are bound to get it right sooner or later. That's fine with us too, just don't try them here. Canada is a great idea, take Michael Moore with you. We've had enough of the mad cow.

They will not relent, they will continue until they leave only one choice. I believe Patrick Henry comes to mind here.

Perhaps if the scream and shout louder, engage in more vicious name calling, make more heinous threats, and just generally hate me more they'll convince me that their moral conviction to compassion and tolerance is the correct path. They're off to a really good start so far.

Very well said. We have had a free-market, low regulation, non-socialist country here for our entire 230 year history, and it KICKS ASS! When people want to start changing it to resemble other countries that we are outperforming in every way that matters to us we act to put a stop to it.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way.
Damn, I love our new foreign policy. And so do 58 million other Americans.

I'm agnostic, and all I can say to this entire thread is, "Amen."

Would that that were only true, in fact we already are much too far down the road to totalitarian government. I used to joke that soon we would need government permission to go to the bathroom until someone reminded me that, in effect, we already do since the federal government mandates what kind of toilet can be put in a house. Many Americans are unaware of the bulk of government interference but let me assure you that if you ever arouse the interest of law enforcement they can very quickly find a law you have broken.

[ Socialism: The Left's Fundamental Problem ]
Democracy equals socialism... Democrats are for democracy.. Where you have a democracy you have socialism... The U.S. USED to be republic... EXPOSE democracy(mob rule) NOT socialism.. The root of socialism is democracy...
Democracy is the road to socialism. Karl Marx
Democracy is indispensable to socialism. The goal of socialism is communism. V.I. Lenin
The meaning of peace is the absence of opposition to socialism.- Karl Marx
We contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle.~Winston Churchill (1874-1965)

"flip" John Kerry was the Trojan Horse containing the "flop" John Kerry the rabid "New Soldier" Marxist with his deepest sympathies in Maoist/Ho Chi Ming Communism. His "nuances" were deceptive ploys to not disclose his true contents.

That's interesting that you brought up government regulation of our toilets since just a few days ago my co-worker made an observation about that very thing.
He said that only in America can you eat a McGriddle Sandwich for breakfast, with eggs, sausage and cheese wrapped in pancakes with the syrup baked in. Then stuff yourself full for lunch and dinner with enormous helpings of everything and all for just a few dollars, and still find time to snack in-between. But in the evening, when it's time to eliminate the end product of all this, the government requires we do so with A PINT OF WATER!
I agree there is too much governmentin' goin' on. (congressional voice impersonated)

Well said. We're really a representative republic, not a democracy. The Socialist, er, excuse me, DemocRATic knows this and is trying to implement it upon us. But Foxnews, the internet and talk radio will have something to say about it.

We're really a representative republic, not a democracy.I'm glad that more are starting to make this distinction.
But Foxnews, the internet and talk radio will have something to say about it.OH, PLEASE! Rush has called himself
"The Doctor of Democracy".
The distinction between a Republic and a Democracy as a form of government is so important and so profound that it can never be overstated while there is one American left who cannot distinguish between the two. If this article encourages even one American to consider the incredibly important differences between a Republic and a Democracy, as well as how crucial it is for Americans not to exchange one for the other, it will have been worthwhile. As for Fox News I've heard a few of them use the word republic only a handful of times.
The
only place I see this getting corrected is on the Internet and that by persistent people like myself and others, even if I sometimes act the ass while doing so. (just call me uncouth)
Dream on if you think Fox or talk radio are going to do the job.
The distinction between a Republic and a Democracy as a form of government is so important and so profound that it can never be overstated while there is one American left who cannot distinguish between the two.
