When Hillary Rodham Clinton, the junior senator from New York, runs for re-election in 2006, she already is planning to lie to her constitutents.
Her husband lied to his constituents when he ran for his last term as governor of Arkansas. He told them that, if he were elected, he would finish his term. He, of course, had no intention of finishing his term. He was planning a run for the White House.
Hillary will be running for a six-year term. She is planning to run for the White House in 2008, so she has no plans to finish her term if she is re-elected to the senate.
What will Hillary say when she is asked to make a pledge to finish six years if she is elected to the senate again? Hillary will lie. She will say that she has no intention of running for the presidency and that she is happy in the senate doing her job for New Yorkers. As we have learned, the Clintons lie every time the opportunity presents itself.
If she is re-elected, she will do what her husband did. She will attend staged meetings around the state where people in New York will insist that she run for the presidency to save the nation. She will pretend she is resisting and that she will finish her term as promised.
But then she will answer the call. She will do it for the good of the nation and New Yorkers will forgive her for breaking her pledge.
This is the scenario. Count on it.
Hillary wouldn't be Hillary, if she didn't lie. It's more natural to her than breathing.
Yup. Boy, to be a fly on the wall of the Clintons' last night. I'm sure Hillary and McAwful were giggling hysterically after opening a bottle of the bubbly to celebrate Kerry's loss (and their gain!)
It would be nice if Rudy would run against her and take a Senate seat. But could we count on Rudy to vote our way on social issues in the senate? B/C someone ought to tell Rudy there is no way he'll win primaries over McCain with social liberal ideas.
That's not going to make much difference to the Libs of NY - they see it as "the greater good".
God help us all if that beotch and her phillandering husband get back into the White House.
Rudy is going to take her out in a couple years, don't worry. Then we will finally be rid of them for ever.
If she were to become the nominee, my darkhorse Republican nominee would be...Mitt Romney. He handled Shannnen OBrien in Massachusetts handily without looking like he was beating up on her. And he's a REAL Republican.
i guess that means...."i shave"...gets moved down to lie # 2
I don't believe this at all. My speculation is that Hillary is not going to run for re-election to the New York Senate in 2006 if she has any plans for a White House bid in 2008. The prospects for a U.S. Senator from New York in a presidential race would be marginal to say the least; Senators are generally the worst presidential candidates you'll ever see, and there hasn't been a New Yorker on a winning national ticket since FDR was re-elected in 1944.
Unless Bill gets all Jimmuh on us (going to 3rd world countries and certifying fraudulent elections)
I know everybody believes there is a Constitutional issue with Arnold running for the Presidency, but the first Presidents were naturalized citizens because the United States did not even exist when they were born.
The precedent was set from the very beginning.
Hillary can't win. America will not elect a liberal woman. Teh democrats are fools if they nominate her. I pray they do.
She'll never get the nomination. People liked her husband (I still don't know why), but not her.
Still, it wouldn't be a bad idea to pull her FBI file.
Plus then she has the added insurance of a fall back job as a senator if she should fail. Just like JFK. Also, she will be drawing her paycheck the whole time she is campaigning.
She doesn't need the money, it's just that New York is paying for a senator and not getting one.
They would definitely pull her file. She has a lot of dirt on her...from business dealings, to her sexual practices, activism. It would be open season.
No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President;
The very first Presidents were citizens of the United States at the time of the adoption of the Constitution. Arnold wasn't.
Much as I like Arnold, we shouldn't be tampering with the Consitution for one guy.
" Mitt Romney. He handled Shannnen OBrien in Massachusetts handily without looking like he was beating up on her. And he's a REAL Republican. "
How'd this guy ever become governor of the People's Republic Of MA ?
Not enough conservatives to do much about it.... unless she has a good primary rival and conservatives cross over to vote against her.
