Carole King: Why the Liberal Left doesn't get it
Twin Falls, Idaho - The Times News ^ | 10/22/04 | Carole King

Posted on 11/03/2004 3:24:43 PM PST by astroman1

Songwriter Carole King is a long time resident of Idaho. Her home is just North of Sun Valley, where John Kerry has a vacation home. She stumped for fledgling democrats across our state. She wrote this comment in a letter to our local newspaper:

"If the current situation isn't working for you, please vote for Sen. Kerry. Women: you don't have to vote the way your father or husband does. It's a secret ballot."

What we saw yesterday was an affirmation of the Democrat Party as the party of homosexuals and bitter unmarried women.

The reeeeaaaaaal issue is why there are those under the age of Zell Miller who are essentially republican in all but name (reverse Rinos if you will) who refuse to see the truth of the Democrat party. Why the denial? The DNC has spoken by their actions.

I get tired of celebs like King and Whoopi Goldberg whining about low taxes. they should shut up or put their money where their mouth is.

Carole King is a talented and good hearted person. Only problem is she thinks liberal programs are the answer and backstabbers like John Kerry are fine candidates.

She is also a product of her time and place....Jewish Brooklyn in the Fifties/Sixties. Just like Streisand. That cultural slice of America has a long history of producing talented, successful people without a clue about how the world has turned.

Damn site wouldn't take my letter to the editor, so here goes:

Carol King needs to read Laura Ingram's book, "Shut up and Sing".

Maybe she approves of women in Afghanistan taking a bullet to the head because they forgot their burka in the morning.

Please spare us the befuddled thoughts of rich liberal idiots, the unsung majority in America know right from wrong.

Nice post by you. Carole K was also neighbors and friends with Neil Sedaka who came from Sephardic Jewish family, same as Eydie Gorme who is a relative of my step mother.

If I was captured by the enemy, and they wanted to torture information out of me, all they would have to do is put on some Carole King LPs. I'd sing like a canary.

Brrrr! Just thinking about her makes me want to listen to some Motorhead!

What was the President's vote tally in Idaho?

Doesn't look like Carole's campaigning did much good, now does it?

One of my favorite singers in the early 70's.

Carole......if you're out there........SHUT UP AND SING!!!

These arrogant , ignorant, elitists move into rural communites and change the entire culture with their spew, as if no one that's been there FOREVER could possibly have the brains to run their own lives. They make me ill. Go back where you came from, Carol and take JfK with you. Idahoans voted overwhelmingly for Bush. Deal with it.

I agree with you 100%. They can say anything they want to, that's the kind of country we live in, thank God. But, just remember with every action, there is a reaction. If they want to offend or denigrate my values, then they better be prepared to expect some repercussions. Monetarily speaking, that is.

Women: you don't have to vote the way your father or husband does.

In 2000, I sat down with my husband and son to discuss the propositions on the ballot and teach my son about voting. I carefully explained to my son that we have these discussions to better understand the issues, but that doesn't mean my husband and I will vote the same way. Of course, hubby went and voted the exact same way I did. So I'll paraphrase: Men: you don't have to vote the way your mother or wife does.

(Why is it liberal wymmin always assume the husband is the boss?)

This president has placed us so deeply in debt to foreign powers like China, Japan, South Korea and Saudi Arabia that financial experts are beginning to speak of America as the next Argentina.

Wow! I hadn't even heard this out of the likes of Begala, Carville, Lockhart, or Ickes. What exactly does that mean? That our Olympic basketball team will get better? I'm all for that!

Carole's going to have trouble getting over this. "It's gonna take some time this time..."

I was going to make mention of that song. What if women across Idaho with Bush-backing hubbies wanted to be "kissed?"

I never voted in a national election until yesterday. When the Hollywood idiots and pop song warblers told me that I was a stupid, toothless bigot, I registered. When bin Ladin said that he was going to kill folks in my red state, I sat in line for an hour awaiting the satisfaction of pushing the "VOTE" button on a straight Republican ticket. Thanks for the push, guys!
