CNN Headline News: Rock The Vote/Vote or Die: Failure
CNN Headline News | 11-3-04

Posted on 11/03/2004 11:20:29 AM PST by My Favorite Headache

No link to this yet but will be one shortly...was on Headline News....estimates show P.Diddy and Russel Simmons "Vote or Die" project failed miserably yesterday and was actually over shadowed by the Christian Youth Vote 4 to 1.

Estimates show some 47% of those who were newly registered....slept in or were no show's.

Rock The Vote hoped to achieve some 25 million new voters to the polls...estimates show they got 6 million.

Should be called "The Thug Vote" not the youth vote. I know a lot of youth in our church who voted for Bush. And they don't listen to C.rap music and all its vileness.

Whatever happened to the cell phone voters that were going to blast Bush out of the White House? You know, the unpollables?

Young people voted the way they always vote: they don't.

I voted in my twenties, but I often voted without knowing very much. Slackers always act like slackers.

It'll be the same in 2008.

I guess P-Dingleberry will have to return to being a talentless punk, Michael Moore will drown himself in lard, Jimah Carter will continue being senile and George Soros will become a monk.

And as for all you sniveling liberal dweebs threatening to leave the country....Don't let the door hit you in the A$$, and don't come back. What an improvement to the gene pool your absence would be.

Most of the young people I know are great moral kids. Voted Bush.

I agree completely. My son got together last night with a whole slew of his scruffy-lookin', tattoo-sportin', backwards-hat-wearin' buds and watched the returns. They celebrated like they'd won the lottery when Fox called Ohio for W!

That's what the MSM isn't catching yet: there is a significant percentage of US youth who are quite conservative. They may dress all "shtreet" and such, but they have strong moral values and want the government to focus on defending the country and staying out of our wallets.

They also think P. Diddy and his crew are morons.

Just to add to your thought.

I find it funny as hell how they hiped it all up to the young voters how this is the "Most Important Election Ever", and after the "Most Important Election" is over there's no mention of it.

Hell they should be celebrating if they believed their own nonpartisan BS because the turnout was amazing yesterday. Why aren't they 'celebrating democracy'? I'll tell you why......they didn't get the desired result of all the "people being heard"!!!

Normally I just lurk on Free Republic, but I wanted to register to reply to this particular post...

I'm 22 years old and this election was my first opportunity to vote for a president. I'm proud to say that I cast my vote in Florida and helped President Bush win such an integral state by an overwhelming margin! Not only that, but I convinced three of my friends to register and vote for Bush as well (and they DID follow through on it!). I also hit the campaign trail by attending rallies, standing on busy streets waving Bush signs, and freeping the libs when they came to town (Jacksonville FL). I've got to say that it was an amazing experience; I love voting and I love this country!! Don't give up on the youth of America yet, we're not all wasted vacuous idiots!

"If "Vote or Die" were true, morgues would be filled with youth today."

The morgues are all ready filled with people who voted Dem. and will continue to do so until the end of time.

What about all the FReeple who were boasting that Howard Stern was going to swing this election? Those folks were way, way off as well.

What's the vote or die program? Is it time to invest in kool-aid?
