I haven't seen the city/township breakdowns yet, but the county breakdowns are similar.
The only county we won in 2000 and lost in 04 was Alger in the UP which leans dem.
We picked up Roscommon, Clare, Alpena, Calhoun, Iron, Manistee, Macomb, and Monroe.
Overall, we picked up 100,000K, but it wasn't enough because of Detroit and Washtenaw Counties.
No just make Wayne County its own state
See:
Phillly Fraud by the numbers (a logical look at Philadelphia)
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1268546/posts
Same sad story in PA. We picked up hundreds of thousands of new votes, but watched Philly, Delco, and Montco piss it all away.
I still think we are underperforming in Lancaster.
Hear, hear. Seems to me that they should fit right in with Canuckistan...
BTW, I'm in Livonia right now on business, and spent the day in Detroit. Feels like a different country than the west Michigan I'm used to.
It was a spillover from the Pistons' win..
And if California could sever all the counties touching the Bay, we could manage Los Angeles and it wouldn't affect our Electoral College votes.
thanks for the post dan. oakland county surprised me. what happened? why did it go blue (hard to say as an msu alumn)?
I live in Livonia, and there are tons of Bush signs in my neighborhood. Unfortunately, we are in Wayne county. It was a lot closer here in Michigan than most people expected. I truly thought Bush would win Michigan, but these numbers are a start....even with the fraud in Detroit.
Michigan results were awfully slow in coming in. I recall reading about blatant destruction of ballots in 2000. I'm not so sure we lost this one but i doubt there is much that can be done beyond planning for 2008.
Has anyone done a red-blue county map for 2004 like the one for 2000?
Holy Wayne County, Batman!
The GOP has to change that figure if it hopes to win there.

Thank you Livingston County! I love this place.
Self-congratulation over. Can we give Detroit to Canada? Keep the suburbs, but send the city to the Canucks. I mean we give them a real hockey team, a baseball team to make up for losing Montreal. We get to live in a free state. Even trade.
Its for this reason that I cant wait to see a precinct map. A ocean of red with tiny scattered blue islands.
The county map is good but I love the precinct map.
Either that, or chip it away and set it afloat.
Becki
We need a plan to turn the
BLUE CITIES
into PURPLE CITIES.
They go 4 to 1 for the Democrats... but we must have decent people living there who understand Republican values and concerns, they cant all be corrupted.... right?!?!?
dan, thanks... i forgot about those 3 cities.
