JUST BREAKING!! FIRE ALL OVER THE PLACE!
Fox News just reported: STARTED on the ROOF! Was it lightning there lately?
Sounds suspiciously like arson, doesn't it?
Wow, that's got to be seriously investigated. As I recall, that courthouse is part of a much larger, almost brand new complex. I'm assuming that the contractors followed fire safety regs - which should have prevented something this big...
Is that where "The Wire" is filmed?
I stopped by my family homestead in Alabama during my move this summer, pulling into town I saw my uncle riding down the road on a mule.
I never lived there mind you, my dad left years before I was even a twinkle in his eye.
My mom used to work there, sounds like arson to me. The timing is certainly suspiscious.

Smells like...Victory!
Did anyone see a Kerrorist leaving the scene?
A google news search reveals that their fire dept has management problems (on third chief in 3 weeks). (wash post article, afraid to post it).
My money's with construction worker error. There are SO many things around a construction site that can cause a fire - careless plumber igniting a beam that smolders, space heater left on, unfinished wiring job short circuiting, tossed cigarette on all the McDonald's bags they stuff down the heating ducts . . .
I've personally investigated fires with those causes . . . yes, including the McDonald's bags (if you're smart, when you buy a house you'll take off the duct covers and look in there . . . yecch!)
Wife's family still owns the homestead in SW Virginia. We don't trace it back too far, 'cause we might be related. But you know all those articles about the Scot-Irish that settled and never moved? Yeah, that's us.
Family claim to fame is that goober that flew his single engine plane into the White House when Clinton was there. He was a distant cousin of my mother-in-law.
Dems having their own little morning-after Reichstag?
I feel kind of foolish sitting here by myself belly laughing. But, considering it is about Elizabeth Edwards I guess that is appropriate.
Looks that way, huh? Expect rioting and looting after Kerry's concession speech. Lock and load.
We did occasionally get an arson, but those are mostly insurance fraud.
I do recall one case (not mine) where a couple of felons burned down the Fayette County GA courthouse on the mistaken impression that if there wasn't a courthouse they couldn't be tried . . . that was a pity because it was the oldest courthouse in GA, with a hand-hewn pine main beam some 85 feet long. They did save the beam and made it into a bench . . .
We'll just have to wait for the word, I guess. But given that it was under construction, that's where the smart money will bet pending the arrival of the fire investigator . . .
Fire Threatens To Destroy Prince George's County Courthouse
POSTED: 9:25 am EST November 3, 2004UPPER MARLBORO, Md. -- Prince George's County firefighters are struggling to contain a rapidly-spreading three-alarm blaze that's engulfed most of the historic county courthouse in smoke and flames.
Fire and EMS spokesman Chauncey Bowers says the fire on the 14-thousand block of Main Street in Upper Marlboro began on the roof, in an older section of the building that's been under renovations.
Bowers says about 100 firefighters are on the scene, where they're battling high winds that are fanning the blaze. Broadcast pictures show a massive plume of black and gray smoke, along with flames shooting into the air.
It's not clear what caused the fire. Authorities don't believe anyone has been hurt.
A spokesman for the county's state's attorney's office says land records and criminal cases are at risk.
