well when you factor in the press's 15% advantage to Kerry I'd say we've done quite well

One aspect of RECONSTRUCTION should be a change in Senate to mandate only simple majorities on judicial nominations.
All the GOP has to do is grow some gonads and MAKE the dems do a REAL filibuster not this gentlemans agreement BS

Gettysburg? Can't disagree, but I might suggest Waterloo, Stalingrad, or Dien Bien Phu.

With all the issues surrounding this campaign, republicans and conservatives still don't "get" it.
Let's see if Bush finally gets it
Ashcroft ought to go hammer and tongs after Sandy Berger stealing secrtet documents and there damn well better be an investigation and prosecution over those forged Air Guard Memos

As a Southerner, I'm offended that the gallantry of Pickett's Charge is being compared to the whining, sniveling stupidity of Kedwards' poor sportsmanship. As a Virginian it is painful to recount that gallant charge into oblivion, and see it used in this way. However, in this case, I am willing to accept this use - to defame skerry and his unholy minions...

I want the "Political General Sherman" to now materialize and start his campaign.I would settle for a Political General Patton to be running the Senate. If the RATS want to filibuster judges, make'em go to the mattresses. Hopefully, Dubya takes the leashes off now.

Fox News was AWOL last night.
They were awful, dreadful. The one exception was Michael Barone - he was excellent. Even Hume sucked. Their graphics/text were constantly flubbed, their analysis lame and late. They feel utterly for the bogus exit-poll data, and held a wake for Bush while the polls were still open.

Lets hope the Lawyer Legion meets the same fate as Picketts Virginians.....
Suh! You insult honorable Virginians when you compare the stout men in Butternut of Pickett with the scalawags and carpetbaggers at Senator Kerry's call!
Retract the slur, suh!
"Huzzah for Old Virginia!"

Chris

The Democratic party got hijacked by the northern social liberals and moved away from the socially-conservative mores down here in the South. I think this is correct. Family is everything here. When the dems redefined family and abandoned the nuclear family, they lost it here in the south.
When Kerry voted against the Defense of Marriage Act in the Senate, his true colors showed up.
It was funny, watching the debates here in Georgia. The dems were all against the Marriage amendment. Over and over they said the same thing. Would have been better if they roped themselves to a millstone and threw themselves into the sea.

Never, but never, ever compare a legion of lawyers to the bravery of the men who charged across that open ground into the mouths of cannon.
They lost the battle, but won honor on that field.

The Democrats and all of their institutions (the media, academia, unions, Hollywood, etc.) threw everything they had into this election. Their 527s outspent the Right. They knocked Nader off a vast number of ballots. They juiced turnout to unprecedented levels. They created documentaries. The lied about the draft. They lied about their candidate. They lied about stolen munitions. They fabricated memos. They even got an assist from the now completely discredited exit polls.
And they lost.
ALSO WORTH REPEATING

So my question is, what happened to the democratic south? The South is still the South ... we didn't leave the Democratic Party, the 'Rats left us.What were we supposed to do, secede? Last time we tried that, y'all got really pissy about it. So we took over the Republican Party.
The South will Rise Again!!!! Hurrah for Dixie!!!

And lest anyone rest upon their laurels, we must keep fighting until the Democrats and their agenda of national socialism is crushed. We cannot let them grain any ground back. We can't let their Marxist philosophy infest the Republican Party. It has begun making inroads and that poison must be stopped and reversed. We must capitalize upon these victories and continue the Reagan Republican movement.
Every FReeper should be a Precinct Committeeman for the Republican Party. If not, then you're not hardly in the fight and serve mostly as a spectator or bystander. We need conservative Republican PCs to ensure that we have conservative Republican party leadership so that we can ensure that we're promoting conservative Republican candidates to ensure conservative Republican victories.
