I will pray for your father jerseygirl.
My mom's family are direct descendents of John Alden and Priscilla Mullins. One of those "fun" things you find in the family history. My paternal grandmother's family arrived on the Mayflower. I hit a dead end with my paternal grandfather's family in Wales at 1777.

Thank you Lahargis.
Prayers on the way for your dad jerseygirl.
Very interesting post. So are we to assume OBL's number 2 man, Ayman Al Zawahiri, is in Iraq?

Site Posts Video of Iraq Suicide Attack:
BAGHDAD, Iraq - A video purportedly showing a suicide attack against British troops last week was posted Sunday on an Islamic Web site.
Soldiers from Britain's Black Watch regiment were manning a vehicle checkpoint south of Baghdad when a suicide bomber blew up his vehicle and other insurgents fired mortars at the position on Thursday, killing three soldiers and wounding eight more, according to British officials.
Al-Qaida-linked followers of Jordanian militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi had earlier claimed responsibility for the attack.
A subtitle on the videotape claimed "The first martyrdom operation against the British forces in Baghdad" before a car was shown slowly driving down a road before it bursts into flames.
The video later shows a blown-off arm and a person, partially off-camera, kicks the arm around before he forcefully steps on it. A subtitle reads "these are some of the body parts that they have not seen because there were so many."
Off-camera, a voice yells out "Allahu Akbar," or "God is Great." The tape also shows military vehicles and a helicopter hovering nearby.

Funny you should mention that. My great, great, great, ad infintim, grandfather was William Whipple. My maiden name is Whipple. He was a signer of the Declaration of Independence.
I'm rather proud of my lineage. That said, Whipple is a very common name here in South Dakota, on the Indian reservations.
Apparently, my ancestors were also missionaries for the Native Americans......and thus, spread their seed, and their name.
My parents, (named Whipple) who live with us, are always getting calls from the Native American groups (thinking they are Indians) wanting support or money for one project or another.
No "Charmin" jokes, please. I've heard them all.

American Al Qaeda Unmasked?
Californian Thought to Be 'Azzam the American'
By BRIAN ROSS and DAVID SCOTT
NEW YORK, Nov. 9, 2004-- U.S. officials believe with a high degree of confidence that a missing Southern Californian, Adam Gadahn, is the self-described American al Qaeda who threatened to kill thousands of his countrymen in a videotape obtained and broadcast by ABC News two weeks ago......

Oh, now THAT's cheerful!
I guess since it pretty much covers all the bases that it's difficult to guess what they're expecting.
Sounds like there's been quite a few cases lately of this type of info going out. Wonder what the inside scoop is.

New site for the Islamic Army in Iraq
What is interesting in this iteration of the site is not what is there, but what is no longer there.

Setting placemark and heading home before something else breaks. Work sure does get in the way of my freep time. Such is life.
Here's hoping (and praying) for a peaceful evening and a quiet tomorrow.
Stay safe folks.
A newspaper reported Tuesday that a suspected terrorist network believed responsible for Van Gogh's killing had access to confidential secret service intelligence.
The NRC Handelsblad newspaper, citing an internal secret service investigation, reported that a friend of Bouyeri received an unmarked envelope last summer with information about extremist networks of which he was allegedly a member.
The Dutch secret service admitted information had been leaked when police found confidential agency information at a house in Utrecht during a terrorism-related search in September.
Bouyeri is allegedly a member of a radical Islamic group said to have ties to terrorists in Spain and Syria.
Umm, I hate to tell those guys, but at some point ol' hogsbreath had access to, at the very least, a makeshift video studio, a podium, a video camera and lights. That doesn't sound like the standard appointments in a cave. Wherever he is, he's moving about freely.
I still don't have complete confidence in the Pakistani army's dedication to catching this guy. Their country put the Taliban in business, after all.
Thank you very much all4one.

IN BRIEF- Security
IRAN BEHIND HIZBALLAH DRONE - Experts from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards were behind the launch of a HizbAllah unmanned aerial drone that entered Israeli airspace undetected on Sunday, Haaretz reports. Apparently, the drone carried a surveillance camera capable of transmitting live images to its Iranian handlers before it crashed into Lebanese waters on its return flight. The presence of Iranian military personnel in Lebanon actively conducting hostile activity against Israel rather than just supporting with money or weapons has raised IDF concerns of a potential flare-up on the northern border.

You're welcome. It's the news that we never get to hear or read from those other sources. Got to be pretty sad for those parents. Wonder who brought the grenade into the internet cafe and what the ultimate use for the grenade was, if it was indeed forgotten.
