>> Today I received a Disaster Preparedness Guide from my place of employment: the USPS. <<
A couple weeks ago, my company handed out an 'Emergency Contact List' which is to be carried on all employees at all times. Another TMer said his place of business did the same thing a week before.
Seems everyone is getting ready for some type of event. More things that make you go, hmmmm.
Interesting. Thanks for the info.
Still no unusual activity here in Reston (that I'm aware of).
News for the Easily Distracted
At 11:36am (ET), Asman broke away from the Peterson/Arafat/Fallujah pattern for a scare about 100 missing propane tanks in Denver that "might" be terror-related. He interviewed Danny Coulson (former FBI asst deputy director), who tried to calm things down, noting that the missing propane is not consumer vapor, but commercial-grade liquid propane & that they may have been stolen for commercial purposes. Asman wouldn't let go of the possible terror connection, wanting to know if "the effort that went into stealing" them didn't indicate this was not a run-of-the-mill robbery. Coulson said no, it would take only a bolt cutter & a few minutess, not a big deal effort. Asman then asked whether there was any "terrorist chatter" about the propane. Coulson again said no [comment: Asman was visibly disappointed that Coulson wouldn't help him hype this story].

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) U.S. military says 10 U.S. service members and two Iraqi government troops have been killed in the operation to capture Fallujah.
Sky News reporter Emma Hurd just reported that a delegation which visited Arafat in his Paris hospital was due to return to Ramallah later tonight.
An announcement about his death could be made by them as early as tomorrow (Wednesday).
On the other hand...
I think I recall you mentioning that about the emergency contact list.
The thing that made me go "hmmm" was the money spent on this (It's about 14 pages, color print). And yet this is the same organization that has deservedly received bad publicity for being unwilling to shut down operations during several high profile anthrax/suspicious substance scares due to the fact they didn't want to lose revenue for manhours lost.
BP to answer questions about planned terminal
GALVESTON BP Energy aims to ease public concerns about the safety of a proposed liquefied natural gas terminal on Pelican Island at an open house Wednesday.
Also at the open house, the London-based energy giant said it would have experts on hand to answer questions about the economic and environmental effects of the gas terminal, called BP Bay Crossing.
BP wants to build a liquefied natural gas, or LNG, terminal on a 185-acre tract on the northeast corner of Pelican Island. The terminal would be about two miles from Texas A&M Universitys campus, three miles from downtown Galveston and very near the Texas City Ship Channel.

EASTPORT - In a strongly worded letter to the Pleasant Point tribal government, Eastport officials questioned the construction of a liquefied natural gas terminal on Indian land and the alleged secrecy that has surrounded the Passamaquoddy Tribe's negotiations with an Oklahoma company. The letter, which has been sent to the tribe, was presented at a meeting of the City Council on Monday night.

MARGARET HUSSAN IS UNDER THE CONTROL OF AL QAEDAS EVIL TERROR DOCTOR
MI6 analysts have established that Dublin-born Margaret Hussans desperate video plea for her life was stage-managed by al Qaedas evil mind manipulator.
He is psychiatrist Ayman Al-Zawahiri, who has publicly boasted he learned his mind-bending techniques from studying the CIA brainwashing methods used during the Cold War. They were a key part of the notorious MK-Ultra programme the CIA devised to obtain confessions from Russian spies.
Al-Zawahiri later studied in Paris and London to become a recognised authority on behavioural psychology. After graduating from Cairo University, be became a founder member of al Qaeda.

You're the first to report the information.
Thanks for the first hand report.
Prayers going up.
Hallo JP
I'm curious: why have the media singled out this particular trial for such intensive coverage?
Doubt it. However, germs have a very short life expectancy outside of mucus or wet areas.
Alright, I thought I just saw an article about an explosion in CA. Anybody else see this? Anybody in CA who can verify this or debunk it?
Sending hugs to you jerseygirl and prayers for your father.
Wish I could join you, ya little rabble rouser.
