Could be, but the only LNG facility extant on the Gulf is in Louisiana. It looks like it's a Shell facility, though not part of the SEPtar division.

Of course there has been speculation that an LNG tanker could make a heck of a bomb if rigged right (though I've also heard arguments it can't be done: the LNG is too cold to make an explosion.)

lawn of golden jewels" could describe the Houston Ship Channel engulfed in flames

Since I'm not that familiar with the fine state of Texas, I assume the Houston Ship Channel is in Houston? Do oil tankers pass through there, or, what exactly is it?

Thanks, and I apologize for my lack of Houston knowledge.

Houston Ship Channel gives commercial vessels access to the port of Houston. I've been there a few times, but I've never seen the channel myself. Brownsville has been devastated in the past by accidents, but I don't know their current level of protection against such things.

Thanks. I'm an intermittent visitor to TM, though now with a Red-state specific threat from the Caliph, I'll probably be here more.

Lithuanians Hunting Missing Radioactive $100 Bill (11/5/04)

Fri Nov 5, 2:12 PM ET Science - Reuters VILNIUS (Reuters) - Lithuanian officials warned the country's 3.5 million citizens on Friday to be on the lookout for a missing radioactive U.S. $100 bank note.

Officials in the ex-Soviet state say they don't know how the note became radioactive, but one theory is that it could have come somewhere in Eastern Europe that still has a high level of post-Chernobyl contamination.

It was discovered in September when it set off alarms at an airport checkpoint and was quarantined in a safe room. But the bank note was reported missing -- probably stolen -- on Tuesday just before it was due to be shipped to a nuclear power plant to be destroyed.

The chief of Lithuania's radioactive substances security agency, Albinas Mastauskas, told Reuters the note was not potent enough to cause burns. But it could pose long-term health risks for children or pregnant women.

In Lithuania, one of the European Union (news - web sites)'s poorest countries, $100 is equivalent to about two-thirds of the monthly minimum wage.

Avian cholera outbreak kills thousands of birds on Great Salt Lake (Utah)

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - An outbreak of avian cholera, currently killing thousands of birds on Great Salt Lake, is among the biggest in years, state wildlife officials said Friday.

The disease is lethal to waterfowl and other water birds, but does not affect humans.

About 30,000 eared grebes have died on the lake in the latest outbreak. Each fall, about 1.5 million of the small diving birds settle on the lake for refueling before continuing their travel south. The lake gives the birds enough food for them to double their weight before they head on to the southwest and into Mexico.

Well putting my 2 cents in here but if they are going for economic then blowing up a tanker while it's coming into port would shut down all the traffic for quite a while.

But if they are looking to rack up a death toll as well as economic then I would think they would go for hitting the storgae facilities. Multiple targets at once could be pretty big.

There is a wonderful doctor named Burzynski in Texas:

http://www.cancermed.com/

This FDA attempted 4 times to crucify this man and were told layoff, why are his cures unique?

Well, there is no money to be made K, from inexpensive cures, and he was giving his for FREE and the FDA wants to own the market on any cancer cure, they make the $$$ on the treatments not the cures!

Dr. S's site is amazing! K, he took patients from Kettering, Mayo etc given weeks to die and in many cases no, the tumors didn't always disappear completely, but the least worse success he's had, they shrunk and stayed that way. This is an extraordinary man from Poland who God has graced with a gift

The_writer_david is correct, these people are living today in a world of old. We, however, are up-to-date. Should any terrorist decide to vacation in Vegas, this is what he should expect:

Welcome to Vegas EOM, Abdul, Akkbar and Mohammed
