Yup, Senator Edwards speaks. SoreLoserman II begins tonight, but I'm not waiting!
Congratulations President Bush!!
It's all over but the crying for the SoreLosermen!!
And now it's time for us to start planning the Free Republic George W. Bush Inaugural Ball II!
I've had Kristinn checking venues and prices and we're in the process of getting a proposal from the Wyndham City Center Hotel in Washington, DC (the other Wyndham that we used last time is already booked).
The costs have more than doubled from our first ball, so we're estimating the price per person will have to be in the neighborhood of $175 per person. We'll also have to move fast on this. We'll need to make a quick decision as soon after the elections results are official as we possibly can and then we'll need to quickly raise the funds to put up the required deposit.
So, here's the question: Are you ready for an Inaugural Ball?
If so, please post here if you plan to attend and how many will be in your party.
Thank you all very much and hope to see you in DC on January 20th!!
By the way, everyone told us last time that the Free Republic Ball was the best one in town and it was half the price or less than all the others. I suspect that this Ball will also be the best in town and at $175 will still be priced less than any other!
Dear mware:
I found rooms at the Days Inn on Columbia Pike in Arlington, VA for about $65.00 per night. You might want to give it a try.
I can't wait for this ball, I plan to bring a die hard Liberal to the ball to rub his nose in it. After all how can you be in the military and not vote Republican. I would like 4 tickets.
Bttt
Just put DC in Orbitz.com for the 20th and you will see.
I'm in. Party of two.
Thanks, Jim! We're fine, don't worry. :-)
Please put me down for 2. I already sent you a FReepmail for same two. I havn't read the whole thread so I don't know yet how you wll confirm and collect. I will come from Maine but have friends in the area to stay with.
Thank you, Jim.
We look forward to the big event!
RamS
Counthis Texan in. Attended 4 years ago and had a "ball".
I'll try and be there.
We're maintaining an Inaugural Ball ping list. When the formal announcement is made, the ping list will be used to alert those who've expressed an interest in the ball and how they can get tickets.
We are inviting some of our Iraqi friends whom we have worked with over the past two years. You should be able to share in their joy and gratitude personally that night.
Please add two more to my headcount, from 6 to 8.
Thanks and, Happy Thanksgiving.....
Add me to the ping list. And thanks for doing this!
What a wonderful idea. I'd love to hear their observations, thoughts etc. if they would be willing to share them.
I hope I am not too late!
If there are any ticketsleft, I would like to reserve 2.
Kind thanks.
Jim/Kristinn,
Not sure if my better half has replied yet. We're planning on at least four of us!
Great! "Paging Kristinn, paging Kristinn".
