Yup, Senator Edwards speaks. SoreLoserman II begins tonight, but I'm not waiting!
Congratulations President Bush!!
It's all over but the crying for the SoreLosermen!!
And now it's time for us to start planning the Free Republic George W. Bush Inaugural Ball II!
I've had Kristinn checking venues and prices and we're in the process of getting a proposal from the Wyndham City Center Hotel in Washington, DC (the other Wyndham that we used last time is already booked).
The costs have more than doubled from our first ball, so we're estimating the price per person will have to be in the neighborhood of $175 per person. We'll also have to move fast on this. We'll need to make a quick decision as soon after the elections results are official as we possibly can and then we'll need to quickly raise the funds to put up the required deposit.
So, here's the question: Are you ready for an Inaugural Ball?
If so, please post here if you plan to attend and how many will be in your party.
Thank you all very much and hope to see you in DC on January 20th!!
By the way, everyone told us last time that the Free Republic Ball was the best one in town and it was half the price or less than all the others. I suspect that this Ball will also be the best in town and at $175 will still be priced less than any other!
Thanks for the quick reply; I'm researching hotels now.
I will be coming alone, but will meet up with my brother(a Swiftie) and his wife who will be attending whatever the SBVT's are planning. How do I pay for my ticket? I'm booking JetBlue from West Coast today.
Great. Thanks. Just wish the ball and CPAC weren't so close together.
:o)
I am hoping two (2) of us can be there. Please put me on list and ping list if there is one. Woohoo!
Ping for ball info.
Jim, I really hope we can help honor the SwiftVets. If they are having a ball and a "finally, welcome home, Vietnam vets" affair, can we attend that and go as the FR contingent?
Anyone from WA going and/or putting together something in WA state and/or the west coast?
I see a lot of posts for tickets for 2. Any singles going to the DC ball? Since I've only been on this site for about a month, haven't really gotten to know any of you.
There will be 2 of us attending FReeper activities and/or inaugural ball.
Please keep us informed; ping us for sign-ups, etc.
I want on the list please.
Two people.
Hi, I'm a newbie as well, and will be going alone. Don't let that stop you, there will be plenty of us "single" types, I'm sure.
I've made my flight arrangements. Please let me know soonest about what I need to do to get tickets
Thank for that link to motel/hotel rooms! Everything in the city is out of sight, or taken - even with a hotel card like Marriott Rewards.
So I am sharing at Comfort Inn in Landover, MD ---3 miles from the city limits, at a fair price.
We'll let everyone know about the payment options when we make the formal announcement for ticket sales.
please put me on a ping list for any Freeper inaugural...
OK.
Perfect. By the way, I hope I get a chance to say hello to you. You were just great on FOX debating that feeble minded liberal.
Thanks. We'll be offering optional name tags with screen names for those wish to wear them. It's alot of fun meeting FReepers for the first time. I look forward to meeting you there!
Will there be parking at the Wyndham?
A good week for the good guys.:-}
Will young children be welcome again this time?
Ya know I'm here for the party
And I ain't leavin til they through me out!
Gonna have a little fun,
Gonna get me some
You know I'm here
I'm here for the party, Yeah!
Lyrics of Gretchen Wilson
we are going to stay at the Bethesda Holiday Inn. I beleive it's 10 miles away from downtown DC.
