Jimmy Doolittle, Winston Churchill, Teddy Roosevelt.

But that's just tonight, and based upon recent reading. Ask again a couple of weeks from now and I'd probably answer differently.

OK...well, breaking bread with Jesus would be outstanding. Other possibilities are too many to list, But I'm pretty sure George Washingotn and Ronald Reagan would win out.

Note that if I had not already found and married a lovely wife, that list would be very, very different...

I have no idea. But without 68-69TonkinGulfYachtClub, Howlin, Liz, Aloha Ronnie, Rondog or Mudboy Slim, I ain't goin'.

<G> Great response! That reminds me of a video I saw while at Kermit Weeks' "Fantasy of Flight" aviation museum in Polk City, FL. It was a short film documenting the restoration of a rare P-51C for his collection. He had it painted in the personal colors of Lee Archer, the famous WWII Tuskegee Airman. After seeing "his" Mustang take to the air again, Lee offered this toast to Kermit:

"If we all had tickets to Heaven
And you didn't have one too
We'd give our tickets to someone else
And go to Hell with you"

Fellow Freepers, that about sums up the way I feel about all of you.

Of course, that only covers a small slice of History...

Well, you could always have a second dinner party. PS...have you found a cook yet.

In no particular order.

LOL! Rules for your dinner party.....3 guests.
This does not preclude a second and third party at a later date.

Karen Hughes, George W. Bush, and, depending on who'd be willing to pick up the tab, Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, or Michelle Malkin ;)

(I'm assuming that W will bring Laura with him.)

Well, just damn! Three, huh? The fist dinner party would be: Ayn Rand, Hitler and Winston Churchill.

The second dinner party would be: W, his Mama and Ronald Reagan.

The third dinner party would be: GHW, Condoleeza Rice, PJ O'Rourke

The fourth dinner party would be: Margaret Thatcher, Hemingway and JC Watts

After that, who cares? I would want each of these persons to be present in their prime.

Aside from all that, I am a fantastic cook. They would have a real treat waiting for them.

Jesus
Erma Bombeck
Albert Einstein

I had a hard time picking between Einstein and Heinlein. I suspect the latter would be better company, but the former would be so intriquing!

G'night all. I hope I awaken to a red map in the morning.

Winston Churchill, Adm. James Stockdale and Benjamin Franklin.

I am having dinner with two extraordinarily liberal women tomorrow night. I love them both dearly, and respect them, but...they HATE GWB. I hope he wins, not to rub it in or make my life easier, but because it is the best thing for our country.

Making my life easier tomorrow night would just be a nice side effect of a GWB win.

Actually, she picked up a bug/virus of some kind in the Valley, and her parents decided it was time to come home and take care of her.

Fine by me!! Wow, I had no idea how much I missed my little darling!

Reading this far, I guess I didn't read the opener close enough. I classified "anybody" as somebody living.

AND, I didn't include FReepers because I remain optimistic that we'll all meet Someday™.

But otherwise, gosh! Ronald Reagan and so many other historic people, like all of our founding fathers. I know I'll meet Jesus someday, too, but maybe meeting Him face to face would help give me a clue about correct paths (more so than carrying Him in my heart does). ;)
