At this stage of the evening, dontcha think...

"Too close to call" = insufficient data??

Yes, I agree. I have no doubt Bush will win Virginia. My only question was would it be closer than thought. It seems to me they would have called it at the same time as Indiana, Georgia and Kentucky if the Bush victory in Virginia was as obvious as those in those other 3 states. That's all. I don't think Bush will lose Virginia but if it's closer than expected then that could be worrisome.

Ted Kennedy on now---looking thinner and sober. I am glad for him to get over his alcholism.

VA and SC too close to call? Those states went for Bush 52 percent and 57 percent, respectively, in 2000. It's going to be a long night.

Being too close to call and having CNN say they are too close to call are two different things. In 2000, networks were calling states early for Gore on the basis of ~+3% exit poll margins, while delaying Bush calls for states with 10+% margins.

CNN went back to campaigning on issues instead of reporting the bad news for Kerry at the polls.
Now they have Sen. Kennedy campaigning for Kerry.
They know they are in trouble!

If Bush holds on to his 33 votes and Kerry does not rise above his 3 votes...we will have this election in the bag.

:-)

Thanks, I needed a laugh.

Meaningless -- the states called so far were never in doubt.

The fact that Virginia is too close to call bodes ill for W.

Heard Linda Vester elaborating today on how very careful they are going to be with "calling states." Guess it was all a bunch of crap.

FOX is saying VA is too clase to call.

Zogby is their pollster?

If there's any small comfort to this one it's that FOX did a better job polling than Zogby.

"PUH-LEASE. Do you not realize that in 2000 they "held" the call on Georgia for TWO HOURS when it was clear in five minutes that Bush had won it???? For Pete's sake people. Don't you learn anything from history?"

They did the same thing to Ohio when all Ohioans knew it was over for Algore, who never led in the state in the first place. And it was much longer than two hours as I remember.

I can't believe that South Carolina is too close to call. I can believe that VA is close but it should still be Bush, still I thought Bush by 10 in SC. I hope that Bush and Co. didn't close their eyes on supposed safe states.

Still shouldn't be calling states this early. Should wait till at least 30% of vote is counted and compared to polls
