British lawmakers vote against banning spanking of children

LONDON (AP) — British lawmakers on Tuesday voted against banning parents from smacking their children.

In a passionate House of Commons debate, some lawmakers argued that even mild spanking should be outlawed and insisted children should be given the same legal protection against being hit as adults.

Repeat after me. "Children are not little adults. They are children."

If they want to give children the same rights as adults, then let's give them the same responsibility. Let's free parents from any responsibility for their children and eliminate juvenile law, trying all children as adults. Wanna trade? I didn't think so.
