With the overwhelming number of K/E bumper stickers and yard signs I've seen around the city I don't know how in the world we have a GOP Governor. I just moved here from GA a year ago so the current crop of incumbents are all foreign to me.

my polling place in Eagan was beyond packed. We did have a move on type outside, they made him take his sign down but otherwise he was still there. Over an hour wait to vote this morning.

50 minute wait at the open in Bloomington this morning - I got in line at 10 to 7am and was #108 voter.

Only 1 punk registering to vote wearing a Kerry sticker on his chest (which was soon gone)- otherwise older people getting their vote in before work

I've traveled a lot in Minnesota over the last 10 years, and one thing that always stood out in my mind was the number of pro-life billboard ads I saw there -- in a heavily Democratic state!

4 were cut out with just the outline remaining, 2 were spray painted with black X's. All of the Kerry signs I saw were intact.

An example of the liberal definition of freedom of speech.

Me too. Was in and out in Blaine in just a few minutes. No hassles except a lady butted ahead of me in line, so I figured out who she was probably voting for.

Don't sweat it that the cities are for KE. We've got 20 miles of suburbas each way on the compass that are stronger Bush.

I was the first to vote at my small, Rice County precinct. When the polls opened there was a pretty good line by our standards, this is good news since my hunch is Bush will carry our area 60-40 at least.

That's a good description of Mn liberalism.

I think that perhaps with the effects of liberalism catching up with our state, some Minnesotans have finally had enough.

"overwhelming number of K/E bumper stickers"

Here's a hint. Compare the number of Kewwy signs v. the number of W signs+the number of houses with no signs.

I find it amazing that in the cities, alot of the Kerry voters are old DFLers who are socially and fiscally conservative but continue to vote liberal.

Here's info that will answer your question as regards how we have a GOP Governor:

MN House of Representatives

Year R D
2003 81 53
2001 69 65
1999 71 63
1997 64 70
1995 63 71

Moveon.org camped in front of Eden Prairie poll.

Large turn out, long lines, moved rather quickly, finished in an hour.

Very good point I suppose...every weekend I have to go over to Twin Cities Reptiles in St. Paul to pick up "dinner" for my ball python and the store is right next to K/E HQ...seeing some of the people mulling about over there made me want to vomit.

Got to the poll in Eden Prairie at 6:30, waited in line for 1 1/2, no sign of Move On, then as I was driving to work I saw the Move On mobiles at a different church in Eden Prairie. Desperate....

Move on Kerry, Move on...
