TOPICS: Business/Economy; Constitution/Conservatism; Crime/Corruption; Culture/Society; Editorial; Foreign Affairs; Government; Miscellaneous; News/Current Events; Philosophy; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: bush; campaigns; electing; election; kerry; media; msm; pride; voting
I don't post on here much, mostly just read. I hope I did this right. I think this article says how we all feel about this election and how it has left us wondering about conditions in America.

The Democrats need to go through what we Republicans did- rediscover their principles and beliefs. The place to start that it seems to me is to fire Terry McAulif (sp)tomorrow morning- regardless of the election outcome.

I used to have interesting debates with my Democratic friends. In the last few years all they have to say is how much they HATE our president. Period. That IS their guiding principle.

We need a healthy two-party system (or even 3)- the Democrats aren't holding up their end anymore.

we Republicans did- rediscover their principles and beliefs.

Huh? Of all the things that could be said about Republicans of today, the total loss of their principles and beliefs is most glaring.

Excellent point/post.

Some Freepers seem to think that the Democrats should just disappear. I am never sure if they have fully thought out what that would mean.

No but if Bush does NOT win it's our rebellion to godless authority, Kerry that has blinded us. Our "pride" to do as WE see fit and not what God sees fit that will have won IF godless Kerry is our next President.

You see, Satan is a fallen angel. It was his PRIDE and rebellion against the authority of God that had him turn AGAINST God.

All this EXTREME self esteem crap is nothing more than extreme PRIDE for all the WRONG reasons.

you will get the system down and before long find yourself watching for what others have missed - not the commas, but the content. good luck.

Oh, I don't think they should "disappear". What should "disappear" is the name DEMOCRATS, to be replaced by the CORRECT word---SOCIALISTS, which is, in truth, the totality of the "Democrat" party today.

I think this was more of a reflection of the mess we have seen and are seeing with this campaign. I didn't mention either the Republicans or Democrats. It did not seem to be offensive but, was more of a reflection of how things seem to be getting less dignified during the campaigns. I heard the same thing said on Fox a few minutes ago. I can't say that I disagree.

You are correct. Civil discourse has died. I hope the tradition of the peaceful transfer/assumption (hope it's not transfer) of power hasn't died also. But it's just a matter of time.

See, I would like to see socialists disappear and be replaced by a party comprised of free-market, socially liberal individuals who actually make up the majority of the American population. Instead of the communist left and theologic right. But, you can't always get what you want.

"Instead of the communist left and theologic right.">

I'd one hell of a lot rather live next door to a member of the Christian "theologic right" (the Islamonazi "theologic right" is a whole other-colored horse) than any flavor of leftist. The Church(es) learned their lesson in the "Hundred Years War" in Europe. The left has learned NOTHING from the multiple debacles of Communism/socialism.

"Some Freepers seem to think that the Democrats should just disappear. I am never sure if they have fully thought out what that would mean."

It would mean the Republicans would split into a RINO moderate party and a conservative right-wing party, and the discussion would be between the 'center' and the 'right'.

I could enjoy living in a country like that.
Just say no to the left, socialism, and all that nonsense.

The people here are not sufficiently sensitized to socialism. Talk to people who lived in the assorted socialist paradizes. Just the word alone scares the sh-t out of me. And Kerry-Edwards-Obama talk is nothing but socialist drivel.
