DRUMMER SAYS AEROSMITH WON'T PLAY FOR JOHN KERRY

Presidential candidate Senator John Kerry wins the election on Tuesday, he probably shouldn't invite AEROSMITH to play for him. Kerry wanted AEROSMITH to play the Democratic convention in Boston in late July, but the band was on tour in Japan, so frontman Steven Tyler said they'd play the inaugural if Kerry won. However, drummer Joey Kramer told Launch that there won't be any such appearances. "The band will not be performing for John Kerry. Unfortunately, he (Steven) volunteers his own services, and he volunteered the services of the band, but unfortunately at the time, I think he forgot to discuss it with the rest of us. And everybody has their views and feelings politically — obviously, we don't all agree — and so, you know, we couldn't come to a, a decision, and so it was decided not to get done."

Music, along with humor, is my life.

Oh, and my family.

Guns, too.

How about Helen Reddy's "Angie Baby" for Tootsie Heinz Kerry.

I assisted in the production of a Skynyrd show last July in Rome GA. (I was with the booker from here in Nashville)

They grossed over 235,000 dollars for a 2 hour show.

The promoter made about 125,000 gross.

Skynyrd walked away with 98,000 net.

Would you quit just because you are 40 or 50 or 55 if you felt like playing and folks want to see you.

A few weeks earlier they had sold 27,000 tickets for an outdoor show here in Nashville.

Other acts like AS, ZZ Top and other journeyman bands do just as well. The top draws like a Zepplin reunion or Floyd do even better...much better.

There is money in touring....why turn it down if you are up to it and have an audience,

Btw...the show was great. And more babes than I've seen in one place in years.....and not white trash like the stereotype you'd expect.
I'm entering this business myself with beer distributor underwriters and feel quite confident when the artist and venue match as well.

I find myself listening to more recent Scandinavian Death/Thrash/Black metal now though. The older I get, the younger I get.

I thought I was the only one. But tomorrow we'll be singing "Let the bodies hit the floor..."

Thanks for the word on Japan. Rock prevents rust!

Wowsa! I'm a chick and I always thought she was attractive. But, I think there's something about her face that makes her sweet and charming, there's no hard sexiness about her.

Some of her comments while filming the Lord of the Rings make her seem like quite a regular person, considering her background. Probably a lib, tho.

Being regular makes her a rebel, considering her background.

Hah! Wasn't my quote; I was using the quote from Left-lie-spy.

My musical tastes no longer go that route. I got to the satuaration point with metal and punk that I began listening to classical guitar, flamenco guitar, jazz fusion, and the like.

Someone had to "Draw the Line."

Tommy Kramer has the "Rocks" in the group. I guess Kerry will have to "Dream On" about an Aerosmith inaugural.

Time to put the "Rats in the Cellar" like they belong.

Wrong!!! I saw them this Fall in Atlantic City. Were better than the last few years .. BUT , they should stay with the R&R and ditch the Honkin' W/ Bobo Blues sets .Still a lot of energy in the old bones .

Give any monkey two sticks and you've got a drummer...but if you take one away you've got a band leader.

Tell that to Neil Peart and Carl Palmer..

I was at Atlantic City as Well.....Totally disagree about the Blues set......Rattlesnake Shake was incredible.....Joe Singing and wailing away on Stop Messing is one of the Show Highlights.

Honkin on Bobo is their best album since the 70's surpassing even "Pump"

These guys, who have been clean and sober since the 80's, have never been better.

You want to knock em...Back it up!
