INTERVENTION TO HEAD OFF ELECTION LOSS

DASCHLE LAWYERS GO TO FEDERAL COURT AT 8:00 PM TONIGHT TO STEAL VOTES, ELIMINATE REPUBLICAN POLL WATCHERS

SIOUX FALLS – Anticipating a loss to Republican challenger John Thune tomorrow ending his 26-year congressional career, Senator Tom Daschle will seek federal judicial intervention in the election process tonight, Monday, November 1 during an emergency hearing in federal court in Sioux Falls at 8:00 PM.

The hearing will be before Federal Judge Larry Piersol who was appointed by Daschle to federal court and served as Daschle’s personal legal counsel in 1978.

“This is nothing short of an attempt to steal an election Tom Daschle knows he is about to lose tomorrow,” said Thune for Senate campaign manager Dick Wadhams. “Daschle’s goon lawyers will seek to get Republican poll watchers removed from reservations and for voters to lose their right to vote.”

Lawyers representing Tom Daschle successfully called for the hearing tonight in front of Daschle-appointed Judge Piersol.

The Pennington County Auditor was informed earlier today that Daschle lawyers will seek to ban the counting of legitimate absentee ballot requests in Pennington County tomorrow, Election Day, morning.

Tommy needs the dead Indian vote to win. Can't vote the dead Indians when people are watching. So you go to a judge that is in his debt and get the poll watchers thrown out. Then stuff as many ballots in the box as you need to win. Simple.

Maybe the Europeans will come to the reservation to check the voting LOL.

Assuming this judge isn't braindead, he'll be aware of the ruling by the Sixth Circuit in the Ohio case tonight. Federal judges don't like to be overruled, so it's no slam dunk that Daschle will win a ruling in this court.

It is rather indicative of his desparation, though.

Daschle has been milking the reservations for decades, manufacturing enough votes to win in consevative SD. We caught them last time, and the jig is up. He is truly desperate.

Remember Tom Foley suing his own constituents ? These things don't go over well. He may not be able to commit enough fraud to overcome this.

Daschle has a lot of people fooled around here. He uses his soft voice...
Our paper endorsed him. Biased paper.
I know a lot of his supporters because I live in his hometown..and they are all kind of mean.

Agreed. Tiny Tommie could be very disappointed. Bad headlines for suing to begin with, more bad headlines for losing. This is especially true since the eyes of the nation will be on this judge and he may not want to appear to be a political hack. Plus, he has a lifetime appointment, plus he may know that Daschle is going down anyway.

Hope and pray!

I believe senators "sponsor" potential judicial appointees. That's probably what they were talking about.

Judge refuses to recuse himself, trial begins.

First witness, a Howard Dean Iowa worker and attorney. Has been in SD only 48 hours. Testified to note-taking and faces being made; nothing said to voters--no one disenfranchised. Break before next witness.

Dasshole's comments on judge---made to trial lawyers convention: "First, I got my start in politics thanks to lawyers... rather, one lawyer in particular. In 1978, I won my first election to the House by 14 votes. Don’t laugh, in South Dakota, that’s 60 percent of the vote. Apparently undaunted by that landslide of support, my opponent sued to contest the election. I was fortunate to be represented by a great lawyer and a dear friend, Larry Piersol. It took one year and 21 days, but here I am 25 years later."
