We busted out of class had to get away from those fools
We learned more from a three minute record than we ever learned in school
Tonight I hear the neighborhood drummer sound
I can feel my heart begin to pound
You say you're tired and you just want to close your eyes and follow your dreams down

We made a promise we swore we'd always remember
No retreat no surrender
Like soldiers in the winter's night with a vow to defend
No retreat no surrender

Now young faces grow sad and old and hearts of fire grow cold
We swore blood brothers against the wind
I'm ready to grow young again
And hear your sister's voice calling us home across the open yards
Well maybe we could cut someplace of our own
With these drums and these guitars

Blood brothers in the stormy night with a vow to defend
No retreat no surrender

Now on the street tonight the lights grow dim
The walls of my room are closing in
There's a war outside still raging
you say it ain't ours anymore to win
I want to sleep beneath peaceful skies in my lover's bed
with a wide open country in my eyes
and these romantic dreams in my head

I've had a self-education the last 6 years since I've been in public school... I've learned more now, exponentially, than I ever learned there.

well, now days you just might learn more from a three
minute record than you would in school.depends on where you go to school.
just remember, sKerry is against school choice whether it
be vouchers or tuition tax credits .
As far a retreat or surrender...the Osama video answers what
he thinks sKerry would do.

I have always wondered why they call this idiot the boss. He can't sing, and never has been able to. His songs are packed with loads of indiscernible yelling, and nary a sign of a harmony. Just think, have you ever hummed a Springstein song? Born in the USA? Born to Run? No Surrender? 29 Shots? Doubtful.

We learned more from a three minute record than we ever learned in school

Well, I leaned more in my break from school than I did in school. I can't argue with that line.

Although Kerry's theme song should be "Just a gigolo".

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN WHEN DRAFTED:

Checked "Homosexual" on his physical application.

The Army rejected him.

The real Boss is the soldier who went to Vietnam in his place so he could stay home, smoke dope, play guitar and make millions denegrating those who served honorably.

Got A Plan Man
(to the tune of Rubberband Man by the Spinners)

Hand me down my walkin’ cane
Hand me down my hat
Hurry now and don’t be late
'Cause we ain’t got time to chat

You and me we’re goin’ out
To catch the latest plans
Guaranteed to blow your mind
So high you won’t come down

Hey, y’all prepare yourself
For the Got a Plan Man
You never heard a plan
Like the Got a Plan Man
You’re bound to lose control
When the Plan Man starts to plan

Oh, Lord, this dude is outta sight
Everything he plans
seems to come out right

Once I went to hear them plan
At a club in DC town
I was so surprised, I was hypnotized
By the plan this cat’s puttin’ down

When I saw this tall thin guy
Stretch a plan between his toes
Hey, I laughed so hard ‘cause the man got down
When he finally reached his goal

Hey, y’all prepare yourself
For the Got a Plan Man
You never heard a plan
Like the Got a Plan Man
You’re bound to lose control
When the Plan Man starts to plan

Got that plan
Up on his toes
And then he wriggled it up
All around his nose

(Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo)
Guaranteed to blow your mind
(Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo)
Doin' all that plannin', yet keepin’ time
(Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo)
Where in the world did he learn that, oh, Lord
(Doo doo doo doo doo)
Lord, help him get away

Hey, y’all prepare yourself
For the Got a Plan Man
You never heard a plan
Like the Got a Plan Man
You’re bound to lose control
When the Plan Man starts to plan

Doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
Doo doo doo doo doo
Got a Plan Man, Got a Plan Man
How much of this plan do he think we can stand
So much plannin', grace and debonair from one man, Lord
And then he had nerve to wiggle his left toe
To his knee, got the planin’ in his head, y’all
Ah, come on, baby

Hey, y’all prepare yourself
For the Got a Plan Man
You never heard a plan
Like the Got a Plan Man
You’re bound to lose control
When the Plan Man starts to plan

Got a Plan Man starts to plan
Movin’ up and down across the land
Got people all in his ways
Everything about him seems out of place

Just a planin’, just a planin’, just a plan-plan-planin’
Just a plan, Got a Plan Man
Just a planin’, just a planin’, just a plan-plan-planin’
Just a plan, Got a Plan Man

Get down
Oh, get down Teresa
Uh-huh

In this song, the protagonist appears to equate playing hooky and sneaking around with a female companion with the ravages of war. I'm sure this'll make them both real popular down at the VFW hall.

And to think, Born in the USA was the first cassette tape I ever bought with my lawn-mowing money. *shakes head in disbelief*
