CLINTONS SEND BACK $14,000 BIKE TO LENO
Former American President BILL CLINTON refused a $14,000 (GBP7,775) get-well present from American TV programme THE TONIGHT SHOW, because accepting it would break US Senate rules.
Presenter JAY LENO arranged for the tandem bicycle to be sent to Clinton, who is recovering from bypass surgery.
But it was swiftly returned because Clinton's wife HILLARY is senator for New York and it is illegal for her to accept gifts valued at more than $50 (GBP28).
An insider says, "What is weirder - that Jay Leno can reach in his pocket for a $14,000 gift, or that Leno has the clout at NBC to say to some assistant, 'Oh yeah, I want to give Bill Clinton a $14,000 gift - can you guys pick up the cheque on that one? I'm going to lunch.'"
A spokesperson for Leno tells website PAGESIX.COM, "The bicycle was a get-well gift from the show, not Jay."

It's probably an six-thousand dollar bike -- I know, I know, but they do exist -- that, when someone called and said "Jay Leno wants a quote on the finest tandem bike you have", a sharp bike store owner "upgraded" on the spot.

...I bought a bike two years ago. The first one I had since I was a kid in the 1940's. I paid $100 for it and its a 21-speed. I am simply amazed at what I got. What in God's name does $14,000 buy..??..!...
If you're still riding a bike at your age, more power to you.
But to answer your question, what does $14,000.00 buy, I'd say that's about a year's supply of haircuts and manicures for Senator Kerry.

Leno has shwed his hideous liberal colors, and his wife, Mavis, shows how classless she is for not supporting Bush. Mavis wanted the Afghan women free to do the things that Bush and our military have allowed them to do!
Hey Lenos....go stuff yourselves.

Actually, it would kill Bill if he attempted to peddle Hillary's lard ass around town on a bike...
But then again, whose to know she hasn't been peddling her ass all over town, anyway?

You know, Jay, that $14,000 would have fed a lot of hungry children, or even found the cure for AIDS.
Opps, never mind. I forgot he's a Democrat so the guilt stuff doesn't apply.

Leno is a multi milionare, he can afford anything, so sending a 14,000 get well gift isn't what suprizes me, it's the brown-nosing that does.
That, is disgusting, I thought Leno had a little more pride than that. His days of making me laugh are over, except for times I may laugh AT him.
What is it with these people with big large heads and chins? too much preasure on the brain?
To: Libloather
These people are simply way overpaid, and they ask stupid questions to boot.

A tandem bicycle?
If this was supposed to be for Slick and Thunder Thighs to go cycling around the Hamptons on, then Leno has a far more subtle sense of humor than I could have ever given him credit for. For the paparazzi to have caught a pic of those two wheezing up and down hill with her hanging on the back would have made the two of them a laughing stock with the American public in perpetuity.

"Actually, it would kill Bill if he attempted to peddle Hillary's lard ass around town on a bike... I wonder if her bike riding attire is a pantsuit, or if she wears fruity shorts like John Francois Kerry
