Maybe Wolf doesn't want to argue with people who formed their political opinions when they were 18-years old. In other words, why discuss ideas with people that are brain dead. Are you listening Senator Joe Biden? Probably not. Never mind.

I just read this article and was about to post it, but you beat me to it. But, does it have to be excerpted?

Hanoi Communist Jane Fonda Campaigning for Communist John Kerry Update:

To: KwasiOwusu

Have you seen this?

As of Saturday, October 23: I was told this evening by a very high Bush-Cheney National official that Jane Fonda has been calling democratic voters in New Mexico to encourage them to get out and vote for Kerry. She accidentally called a Bush-Cheney campaign aide and was recorded. Her private telephone number is 516-728-1665. I have already called to let her know my feelings about her campaigning for Kerry and her previous actions. I felt it would be nice to post her number here so Vietnam veterans can also call her and express your true feelings about her. Thought she and Kerry barely knew each other? Hmmm.

(((PING)))

I guess the number rings straight to Jane while she's out campaigning for her fellow traveler John Communist Kerry...

Wolfe probably has better things to do than try to debate childish, self-righteous fools. I don't blame him.

Ah, yes, the wisdom of Tom Wolfe:
And while the invasion of Afghanistan was something that had to be done, I am stunned that Iraq was invaded.
Et tu, Dandy Tom?

"I think support for Bush is about not wanting to be led by East-coast pretensions. It is about not wanting to be led by people who are forever trying to force their twisted sense of morality onto us, which is a non-morality. That is constantly done, and there is real resentment. Support for Bush is about resentment in the so-called 'red states' - a confusing term to Guardian readers, I agree - which here means, literally, middle America. I come from one of those states myself, Virginia. It's the same resentment, indeed, as that against your own newspaper when it sent emails targeting individuals in an American county."

I have read and enjoyed Tom Wolfe's work for many years. He is a gentleman in the truest sense of the word and a superb writer. Few authors have skewered the hypocrisy and foolishness of the so-called "elites" in America better than Mr. Wolfe and his comments in this interview provide numerous insights into the groupthink that current grips the MSM, Hollyweird, academia, and the other bastions of leftism in the US.

Wolfe's 24 year old daughter Alexandra recently told the New York Observer that she was voting for Bush because of the terrorism issue.

Like daughter, like father...
