Good morning, freepers. As you may already know, this is where we place links to other Terri threads at Free Republic and other breaking news about Terri Schindler-Schiavo.

In addition, this is a place to meet and plan ways to use grassroots activism to help Terri's Fight.

As far as what can Free Republic do for Terri's Fight, in the November Dailies Thread (here), please consider joining us.

The pay isn't very good lol but it is rewarding to help Terri nonetheless. Terri's life has as much value as anyone else's. The right to die movement needs a counter-balance. That freepers, is where we come in. TO JOIN TERRI'S FREEPERS, I would ask that newbies and old guard Terri freepers do a post to join us under our new name: TERRI'S FREEPERS.

Question: Do these 2002 pics look like a Permanent Vegetative State?

Terri starts out apparently asleep. A doctor wakes her to start his tests.

Doctor: Terri. Open your eyes up...

Terri: (Startled at hearing her name. She starts moving her mouth and fluttering her eyes, like a person who is just waking up)

Doctor: Open your eyes, Terri open your eyes

Terri: (slowly at first, Terri struggles to open her eyes, then turns toward the doctor, and opens her eyes a normal amount)

Doctor: There you go, good.

Terri: (then, either to show off(?) or wanting to perform well, she leans further forward toward the doctor, looks straight at him and opens her eyes as WIDE AS SHE CAN. Note the WRINKLES ACROSS HER FOREHEAD caused by her also RAISING HER EYEBROWS as high as possible )

Doctor: [now obviously impressed] GOOD!! GOOD JOB! GOOD JOB YOUNG LADY! Good Job.

In late 1992, a jury agrees that Terri should live about 41 additional years, and it awards Michael a Million dollar lawsuit for Terri's rehabilitation. He soon afterwards, stops all physical therapy and rehabilitation, and issues a do-not-resucitate order.

• In 1996, Michael asked Jodi Centonze to marry him and she said YES. Michael testified under oath that Jodi is his fiancee. They now have two children together. State law prohibits guardians for the disabled who have significant conflicts of interest.
• In 1998, Michael suddenly recalled that Terri 'wished to die' rather than live with an inconspicuous feeding tube under her clothing. Many disabled people live nearly normal lives with the same kind of feeding tube.
• In 1999, it became legal for the first time to kill Florida's disabled by removing their feeding tubes. Any 'verbal contract' Michael and Terri might have had before 1990 to kill each other this way, would have been murder at that time and thus illegal.
• In 2003, Michael and his lawyer nearly convinced the world that Terri is "PVS" - which by Florida's definition is:
  • The absence of voluntary action or cognitive behavior of any kind.
  • An inability to communicate or interact purposefully with the environment.
• In 2004, The Pope rules that the disabled MUST be fed, and life-sustaining feeding tubes are NOT medical 'treatment'. Terri, a devout Catholic who spent K-12 in Catholic Schools would CERTAINLY honor the Pope's ruling, and choose to live.

I looking at it as a legal issue because I'm a lawyer. I read the decision, but I can't remember if they declared the law completely unconstitutional or just as to Terri's case. If their logic was that the legislature cannot affect a pending case, then I don't see why they should declare the law completely unconstitutional--unless of course the law only applied to Terri to begin with.

Hi, ft -- thanks so much! I was doing the cyber equivalent of fumbling around with scissors and ribbon getting that nice "Terri Big Eyes" segment posted, lol! I love it... prayers always for Terri and her family.

I pray that at this very moment Terri is protected and defended by angels -- seen and unseen. That she is the recipient of neverending TLC that cannot be thwarted or circumvented by man's cruel intentions. That God our Creator is at work in the hearts of lawyers, judges, witnesses, and yes, her husband and his family -- that lies and subterfuge will be exposed for the area and whole world to see.

Terri obviously is not PVS.

What an outrage that the sadistic Michael Schiavo is allowed to be her guardian. This makes one loose faith in the system.

An interesting tidbit of info on that video. Terri's dad told me that was Dr. Cranford (Michael's chosen doctor expert) who was examining Terri. They were so happy with Terri's responsiveness, and were so happy that Cranford was so upbeat about Terri. Then Dr. Death turned on them in the courtroom. Funny thing is though, everyone can see from that video how purposeful Terri is in complying with the doctor's requests. Anyone who sees that video KNOWS that Terri is in there! Whether they will admit it or not is another thing entirely.

It truly IS purposeful activity, ABOVE what was asked as she not only opened, but WIDELY opened her eyes, to the point -- as is so obviously visible in the last photo -- that her brow is wrinkled!

Hi, Dante3 -- so true, she is obviously not only NOT in a coma, but not even in PVS!

As I'm concerned about the election, I'm reminded it is one thing to be distressed at what man is trying to do, how man is attempting to foment chaos and uncertainty. BUT -- God is on His throne, and we are before it day and night petitioning Him, the ultimate Judge. (Cal Thomas the other night said it's the US nearly Supreme Court, that the REAL Supreme Court is God's!).

I'm looking for a lawyer or lawyers who can help me sue certain entities on city, county, state and federal levels to help get Terri free from being neglected and the attempts at murder on her life, etc. I have a cd of materials which is lodged with these entities which proves acts being perpetrated against her of which I would like to see her freed from being perpetrated against her. Would you have any expertise in this area or any connections that could help. My only stipuations are that payment could be made to the lawyers if they win monies from the suit and the rest would go to Terri's rehab, care, etc.

Yep. Dr. Cranford's was one of the ones she was very responsive for. He is a total jerk, loser, etc. He was at the bioethicist, etc. discussion at the University up there in Tallahassee the day before the Supreme Court case of ruling on the constitutionality of Terri's law. After the discussion he tried to shake Diane Coleman's hand.. she refused of course. He was up there saying how much of a vegetable Terri is and how she doesn't have consciousness, etc. My dad is from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area of Minnesota from where Cranford currently hails. What a disgrace Cranford is to humanity on this planet.

Unfortunately, that is not my expertise. My experise is finance.

I'll be honest with you. I think you are going to have a tough time doing what you want to do, or finding an attorney who's willing to take on the case. If you were a family member, you might have had a chance earlier on, but this thing is so far down the road... I understand that the lead attorney for the Schiavo side quit recently. I suspect that it's because she realized the case was over, for all practical purposes. They lost at the Fla. Supreme Court level, and my guess is that the US Supreme Court will not touch this with a 10 foot pole.

Just because it's wrongly decided doesn't mean the US S.Ct will consider it. They only take on cases when there is something they are trying to accomplish in filling in the federal law. The Fla. Supreme Court was pretty clear, I think, that it was deciding the case on the basis of Florida law. That being the case, the US S.Ct. doesn't have a whole lot to say about it.

I've been praying that the Lord will make a way, where
there seems to be no way for Terri.

Now I'll change it to make a way for Michael and "judge" Greer to be brought swiftly to justice for their crimes
against Terri!
