IEM - Bush Futures just took a Big Hit.

I think we are seeing some kind of manipulation going on. Bush was up by a decent margin not long ago. Then all of a sudden the bottom dropped out and now its a dead heat.

Numbers are now starting to rebound just a bit. This within a 15 minute period.

I see a good opportunity here for Bush supporters to take more of Soros' money. Buy low, sell high, right?

This may have something to do with it:
[BRIEFING.COM] Major indices give back some following the worse than expected October ISM Index... The national manufacturing report declined 1.7 points to 56.8 - its lowest reading since September 2003... This is a bit of a surprise to the market as it did not show the same surge seen in Friday's Chicago PMI Index - in which the regional manufacturing report climbed to 16-year highs... Instead, both the new orders and production components of the ISM came in below 59... September Constuction Spending was also released at 10 ET, and checked in at 0.0% (consensus of 0.4%)... A s a result, the homebuilding group has turned negative... ..

I think it's best to watch the other IEM numbers now, the Vote Share market. This market predicts what % of the popular vote W. will get. It's been locked at 52% +/- a fraction for a long time. W. will get about 52% unless he's cruising to a huge crushing win. I don't think anybody doubts this (Carville, Zogby and Kos included) Now call some voters in battleground states.

I am an IEM trader, and I'm watching the trading in real time. The GWB contract will take some hits today, but don't worry. The would-be manipulators are just throwing away their money.

The time for manipulation was during the conventions, but not now. It no longer matters.

At the time I did the refresh the race was virtually tied at 47. I should have copied the screen and pasted it. IT has since rebounded for Bush a bit. Obviously something happened, just not sure what.

Someone needs to explain to me why IEM has to be quoted ad nauseum on this site. It's up. It's down. Who cares? How is this any better predictor than anything else, especially if it can be artificially manipulated?

Bush is back up to 55 on Tradesports, after flirting with 49 last week.

Point is, if you add up all the individual state races in Tradesports, Bush still wins. But it only takes a couple of big trades to manipulate the stock price on these boards, so don't panic over every single swing.

This is exactly why the CIA's idea last year of a "Terrorist Futures" market was so laughable.

Min. by min. is not where they claim accuracy, Rather if you read their PDF file on the front page it is the numbers from the last week you should be watching with error of 2.5%
