I don't think they would be joking around like this if they weren't confident. It hysterical.

If we win those two, we win, no doubt about it. To win my homestate (WI) and a couple other 'blue states' would be icing on the cake.

There is a way we can know by Tuesday afternoon who has won.

I'm going to be listening to Rush Limbaugh. In 2000, he was generally upbeat until the third hour of the program, when his mood inexplicably turned dark and hesitant. We later learned that he had received the results of exit polling that showed Gore slightly ahead. This year, I pray he's whooping it up in the 2 o'clock (ET) hour!

I doubt that Rove and the others would be joking around if their internal polls were bad. You didn't see the Kerry people in costume. I am looking at how the two campaigns are acting more than what they are saying. With that in mind, the Bush campaign is acting like the winner.

bush can win without Ohio, but that would be cutting it very close.

Of course he can. Bush was only the second Republican in history to win without taking Pennsylvania (Nixon in the strange 68 election was first). These rules aren't written in stone. Did you know that no Democrat has won without taking Kentucky? Do you think Kerry has no chance because he won't Kerry Kentucky?

That said, we will win Ohio.

Please elaborate more on this with what happened with Rush in 2000... More details on how his mood switched..

i.e. what was he saying first two hours, what was he saying the last hour.. specifically?

Nevertheless, the Bush-Cheney team's optimism may be tempered by memories of what happened four years ago. Two days before that election, political adviser Karl Rove predicted that Bush would defeat Democrat Al Gore in a landslide with 320 Electoral College votes.

i agree, they look to be having a blast which is very comforting. i trust him implicitly. but that being said, i wonder why he is making any prediction of victory, all pubbies need to vote their little heads off!

The DUmmies must be weeping rivers of tears upon hearing this from Rove. After all, they believe that Rove is capable of all, omnipotent, omnipresent and supernatural! Bwahhahaha.
