No one to champion

The United States is facing profound challenges as it chooses a president for the next four years. Insurgents continue to plague the rebuilding of Iraq, this nation's deficit is exploding, and terrorism has become a worldwide reality.
These and other pressing issues will require singular leadership from the Oval Office. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend either George W. Bush or John Kerry with confidence.

Interesting. They endorsed Bush in 2000.
And, of course, it wasn't before GW Bush took office.....
Being a native of that "city," I think I can understand the rationale.
They are trying to prevent an urban riot or just protect their reputation among the urban populace. They want to endorse President Bush but really can't and yet they can't in good conscience endorse the traitor.
Whimpish editorial, huh? No guts, obviously. It's a cop out to recommend no one.
If they aren't going to recommend Bush or Kerry, maybe they should recommend Bodnarik or Nader.
Well, if we could somehow clone and revive Ronald the Great in his, say, 60-years old condition, he would make a close to ideal candidate, but he is not available.
