POLL Workers-not officials- Do we make a difference?

Posted on 11/01/2004 7:00:07 AM PST by GottaLuvAkitas1

I am working the Polls for the BUSH Team on Tues. for 13 hours. I have agreed to do this in hopes to sway someone/anyone in Bush's favor. We are short some workers because a lot of people (Liberals no doubt) volunteered for the Bush team, but now don't return calls.

1. Do we make a difference? 2. Do you think there will be trouble? 3. Other than the regular stuff to hand out, what would be some good ideas for my table? Candy for kids? Other? 4. Should I use any anti-Kerry stuff?

The best thing you can do is witness and document any irregularities. I doubt that you are going to change anyone's mid at this point. Bring paper and camera

It is illegal to campaign at the polls - do not do it. Your presence there is more useful to dissuade RAT voter fraud. Keep your eyes open and report ANY infractions. Toll-free phone numbers to report violations are also available from your local GOP office.

What do you mean "working the Polls?" Here in our state you would be arrested for doing anything like what it sounds like you're suggesting.....I must not understand. I am a POLL Worker on Tuesday.....helping people get their ballots and make sure they get into the machines....is that what you mean?

WHERE are you working? You can't be within 100 feet of a polling site! So you're setting up outside somewhere?Personally, I think it's a bit late for phone calls...I don't buy into this idea that there are THAT many people still undecided. And I sure don't know how you can influence any voter at this point in time. The important
give away is the paper sticker "I VOTED TODAY" given to
each person who walks through the line and casts his ballot in the box.

If you've volunteered to work INSIDE the polling place, you already have been told what your duties will be, AND you're being PAID for your services.

You haven't defined your job very well.

Are you a POLL WATCHER?

Are you a GW Poll worker who will be 100 feet away from the door that voters will walk through?

Big difference many different legal responsibilities, I HIGHLY suggest to anyone who EVER suggests a CAMERA at an election site do some research, it is CONSIDERED intimidation and not allowed!

I'll be there to help you out AFTER I vote, but it sure would be nice to have some other people there also to give us a break.

Give out the information given to you by the party, but, bring a camera so we can document any democRat intimidation of voters. I'm bringing mine!!

See you tomorrow!!

STAY THE COURSE, VOTE EARLY AND VOTE OFTEN!

We can be there, but 70 feet away.
In Va. there is no problem as long as we stay the 70 feet outside the polling place. It is common practice here.

WE WILL BE POLL WATCHERS AND WE WILL BE THE LEGAL DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE POLL ENTRANCE.

HOWEVER, WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED TO HAVE A CAMERA AVAILABLE TO DOCUMENT ANY DEMONRAT VOTER INTIMIDATION.

It is common practice here.

Here, too. My kids and I worked the poll during the primary, for a State Senate candidate, and we'll be out tomorrow with County GOP voter guides. The ballot is very confusing here (Democrat Board of Elections ...) and I believe we will make a difference.

aw schucks, ma'am.......:-)

Call Bill Lattanzi at 726-6950 (Victory 2004 Headquarters) and I'm sure he can get some other people to help us out tomorrow.

After I help you out, I have to go to another polling place to help Winsome Sears. Some "vacation" I'm having!! :-)

Bring a smile and lots of friendliness and kindness, any negativity can backfire that close to the booth.

And don't feed the birds, if anyone in line gets pooped on, they'll be mad!

No campaigning at the polling places. Just do your part by doing as instructed.

I have seen effective "Card Pushers" pass out koolaid on hot days and bags of popcorn. It is super helpful if you have a list of all polling places and directions. Have a sign that says, "Ask me where to vote". A lot of voters show up at the wrong precinct, and you can direct them to the right polling place. Be friendly, not pushy. You may cause a few to switch to Bush. Be on the lookout for buses of dims who are voting multiple times at various precincts. If you see such make a discreet video and alert Card Pushers at other precincts who can gather more evidence. BTW, I am now the Republican Alternate Election Judge in a precinct full of dims for tomorrow. That's the best way to combat fraud...inside the polling place.
