Some very bad news for me in this report - Bob Forward, who I knew when I worked at the Hughes Research Laboratories in the early 60's has died. A true original thinker and a genius without doubt. The world will miss this guy.

Indeed - I'm sure the face on mars will use this technology to enhance voter fraud in Kerry's favor ;)

In theory you could transport both living and non-living objects if you had the theroetical equipment/computing power needed or other technology not yet available.
Still science fiction.

Take a close look at page 4
"This page left intentionally blank."
As opposed to pages left un-intentionally blank?
Besides, the page is NOT blank.
LOL
Right now, this is in the brainstorming stage. Wait a decade or so before you get too excited.

I recently read a scientific explanation of teleportation in Brian Greene's new book, "Fabric of the Universe." From what he decribes, I think we can rule out the Star Trek version of it. It seems like we may be doing well to "teleport" something as large as a molecule. Although the scientists refer to what they are doing as "teleportation," I'm not sure if I would agree. Basically, they are duplicating particles at different locations, and calling that "teleportation." It's not the same particle--just one that is identical. Since fundamental particles are all the same anyway (as far as we know), it seems like a stretch to call that "teleportation."

Right. I knew that. But I don't watch it much on Fridays ... Did GEN Hammond retire, or die?
