When Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary agreed to do a fund-raising concert for a Texas congressional candidate last month, the appearance had to be canceled at the last moment when it was revealed the singer was convicted of child molestation in 1970 and pardoned 11 years later by President Carter.
Nevertheless, Yarrow has been campaigning for his good friend, presidential candidate John Kerry, throughout the year. And why shouldn't he? He has been friends with Kerry for more than 30 years and is godfather to his daughter Alex.

One of the tabloids connected Carter with a girlfriend and had photos. I do not know how genuine the story was. Her name was probably Charity. No, maybe she had dark glasses and a white cane...and a dog with a big harnass.
So the crime must have happened in Washington DC or some other Federal only territory
What didn't Carter pardon? Well, whatever he missed, Clinton did.
Nope, She was born in 1973 and he was convicted in 1970 ;)

Sure her name not Helen Keller - Carter is one goofy looking SOB?
Just imagine the uproar if it were some old Country Western singer campaigning for Bush and was godfather to his twin daughters...the NY Slimes and the network Talking Heads would literally be beside themselves by now...just as they were when the DUI story broke.
...But of course, because it's THEIR guy, this will be covered up better than an Eskimo.

EXACTLY!
Carter was able to pardon him because the crime occured in Wash DC if this story is accurate.
http://www.metnews.com/articles/affairs091902.htm - At the time of the crime in Washington, D.C., Yarrow was 30 years old and the girl was a mere 14.
That's an insult to Helen Keller!
...It's not so much his looks as it is his nasty attitude towards President Bush and America that bothers me about old Jimmah...I just wish he'd go back to building houses and shut his yap. It grates my nerves.

1 small point for carter, he did pardon G. Gordon.
Like the UN that he loves so much, both are better suited to do relief work and stay the hell out of politics.
What didn't Carter pardon?
He didn't pardon himself for giving the Panama Canal away.
Good catch, you win the Ace Ventura, or is it Fletch award for investigative reporting excellence.
With judgement like that, he will probably appoint Michael Moore to the Supreme Court.
"pedro, play us a song!" - John sKerry
and Carter gave Kerry an honorable discharge in 1978, meaning his original discharge was most likely less than honorable, and rightly so..........
Helen Keller was a communist.
So Carter pardoned draft dodgers, traitors AND child molesters????? What a guy.
Looks like one of those January 19, just before midnight pardons
