When Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary agreed to do a fund-raising concert for a Texas congressional candidate last month, the appearance had to be canceled at the last moment when it was revealed the singer was convicted of child molestation in 1970 and pardoned 11 years later by President Carter.
Nevertheless, Yarrow has been campaigning for his good friend, presidential candidate John Kerry, throughout the year. And why shouldn't he? He has been friends with Kerry for more than 30 years and is godfather to his daughter Alex.

Something is wrong here, a President, even a dumbass one such as Cartuh, cannot pardon state criminal convictions---only crimes against the US.

Interesting how Carter is so vocal for Kerry. He pardoned draft dodgers and objectors to the Vietnam War. I wonder what involvment Carter had with Kerry during the Vietnam War and afterwards. Both seem to have curiously strong affections for the Communists.
My first thought was that he selected Klinton. I guess it said "molester" not "rapist".

No, Carter pardoned him as Prez in 1981. Also Patty Hearst, the guy who tried to kill Truman, and he commuted the sentence of G. Gordon Liddy so he could go be a talk show host ;-) Way to go, Jimmah, ya dope!

He was probably made Kerrys daughters Godfather before he was ever convicted, we shouldnt make a big deal out of this kind of crap, it will only hurt us in the long run.
