I had that thought too, but the article said the pardon was in 1981, so Jimmah did this on his way out the White House doors (don't let the door hit you in the ass-Jimmah).

No, Carter pardoned him as Prez in 1981. Also Patty Hearst, the guy who tried to kill Truman, and he commuted the sentence of G. Gordon Liddy so he could go be a talk show host ;-) Way to go, Jimmah, ya dope!

1970 and pardoned 11 years later by President Carter.

Looks like one of those January 19, just before midnight pardons
