Or perhaps this is why NavyCHIEF was asked to back off the related protest event. What would happen to the election process if Kerry were forced out of the picture (i.e., ineligible for the office) right now

This is a very good point. Maybe they want to just get enough hints and questions about it out there to raise the question in people's minds.

The obvious problem with this story: If Kerry was such a hot item back then, and if he was high on Nixon's enemies list, then someone in the Nixon Administration would surely have known about such a discharge.

Or was this supposed to have happened during Ford? Even then, you'd think someone would have known about it.

Could that be why documents on sKerry's website list 1 of his medals as "Siver Star with V"?

Look closely at his website, he has THREE separate citations for that single bogus medal with the combat "V." Each time the language changes and the person signing it is higher in rank.

Kerry got an honorable discharge when he went from enlisted status (Officer Candidate OCUI-2), and was immediately commissioned as an Ensign, USNR.

So he would have a DD214 from 1968? And then one from 1978?

No, no. You get the 214 when you leave active duty. A DD214 is not a discharge. A DD214 is proof of your service and an overview of what you did, but it is not a discharge. When I was enlisted, I had a 6 year commitment, 4 active, 2 whatever. I served my 4 years active and separated and I received my 214 at the time I separated, i.e., the 4 year point. I then went in the IRR for 2 years and did nothing. When my two years in IRR were up (i.e., my six year commitment) I received my Honorable Discharge in the mail. In other words, I received my 214 two years before I was discharged.

I sent an email a few days ago to brokaw at nbc asking him why the MSM has refused to both investigate and report on the descrepency

Bet he answered right? The MSM will never respond to letters like this. My question is, Why watch them. Fox offers excellent coverage and actually responds to viewers letters, from time to time.

and it was pointed out as well that the DD215, an amending document, noted that his service was terminated in March 1970, except this was issued in March 2001 and the theory is Kerry had his record whitewashed in order to deflect any arguments or perhaps any legal action that he commmited treason or a punishable offence by his anti war activities after March 1970, whilst still a commissioned officer,

2001. so very wierd.

I enlisted in the Navy for 3 years ('66-'69)
I went in when I was 17,
by law I was let out the day before my 21st birthday
Got my DD 214 when my 3 years were up
3 years later I got my Honorable Discharge by mail also.
I was in a inactive reserve status for 3 years.
I was an enlisted rate.

2001? That is weird. Why would someone worry about it 23 years after the fact? Hmmmm. Maybe someone was thinking of running for president!

Again, imagine the outcry if Bush refused to release his military records. Wait! We don't have to! There was an outcry from the MSM even when his records were released!

It's NOT EO 4483....It's Presidential Proclimation 4483. http://www.archives.gov/federal_register/codification/proclamations/04483.html

It's EO 11967. http://www.archives.gov/federal_register/executive_orders/1977_carter.html

If a simple thing like this can't be properly researched, who is going to take anything at face value.

Dot the i's and cross the t's.

Yep, that's how it works. I think some are confusing a 214 with a discharge.

I was Army enlisted, so maybe that explains it. It says "Honorable" on my DD214, I assumed that was my Honorable Discharge.

Maybe I never got an honorable discharge! It is true that my last Top was the one I tangled with a quite a bit!

"Look closely at his website, he has THREE separate citations for that single bogus medal with the combat "V." Each time the language changes and the person signing it is higher in rank."

That's another good question - why 3 citations for the same awards.

From what I've seen in ither posts, the Bronze Star can be awarded with or without the 'V' for valour, but the Silver Star requires valour to be awarded so it needs no 'V' designation as valour is implied.

" An officer, however, remains an officer for life unless he resigns his commission or gets into trouble. An officer who does not resign (or lose) his commission would never be discharged.

Do you know when Kerry resigned his commission?"

This lends even more credence to the idea that he was involuntarily separated. He would never have resigned his commission on his own.

On the 214, if I remember correctly, it states your type of service and your service was Honorable. A 214 sort of acts like a letter of recommendation. But your discharge would not have happened until your entire obligation was up. Most obligations are 6 years, with either 3 or 4 active.

If you never received an Honorable Discharge certificate in the mail, you may want to contact the Army. If you moved, they may not have had a current address for you.

OVER AND OUT! Going to bed. :)

Well now I am confused. I served 4 years in the USMC and was Honorable Discharged in 74. All I ever got was my dd214. Yes, I was informed I would have to remain inactive reserve for 2 years.

Are you saying I was never Honorable Discharged from the Corps, only active duty? I want my Honorable Discharge! How do I get it?

Well .. Drudge is no lover of Bush - and Bush's picture has not been on his website for several days - only Kerry's. What does that tell you ..??

But .. we all know how Drudge loves to have his siren going on Sunday for some huge scoop he will reveal on his radio program - so Drudge could be waiting until tomorrow to shed some light on this.

It requires only one question: "Senator Kerry, were you honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy in 1972?" He won't be asked this question, nor would he answer it if asked.

There are several mere questions that the very asking of would sink Kerry.

This convinces me that every Republican who is invited on the Sunday Morning talk shows is an absolute rat-in-the-bag because any one of them could say: "Hey Russert, why hasn't anyone asked John Kerry if he was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1972?"

Any real conservative would steal the airwaves and awaken the public, so the very appearance of a conservative that shows up on one of these MSM shows outs them as a rat.

Some baseball pitcher said "vote Bush" the other day and it was absolute trauma to the liberals so much so that they didn't even know how to react to it except to call it "divisive". They need and they have complete control of everything that can influence thought. ( cept that information that can be heard or read on the internet and radio ).
