BUSH HAS THE MO [NRO, "The Corner" - another chat with Bush insider]
The Corner at NRO ^ | 10/30/04 | Katherine Jean Lopez

BUSH HAS THE MO [KJL]

That's the GOP message tonight as they work to the ends of the continental U.S. and beyond--to Honolulu!! Bush/Cheney is confident this Saturday night. They believe these last days will prove they have made significant inroads throughout the U.S. at the grassroots level. Starting yesterday, 150,000 volunteers are working in the tightest states, contacting 18 million voters to get out the vote for W. They say they’ve registered 3.4 million more Republicans since the last presidential election. That those GOTVers are volunteers, too, they say is significant.

In Florida alone—on Friday alone—GOP officials say volunteers knocked on 170,000 doors and made 200,000 calls. Though E Day they expect those numbers to hit 17,000 volunteers will 800,000 doors and 1.2 million calls. Just in Florida, a state where they’ve been confident for more than a few days now. But it’s not lackluster in Ohio either. GOP officials are saying 14,000 volunteers will knock on 400,000 doors and make 990,000 calls.

We're seeing a lot of sign theft in Stephenson County, IL. But we also can't keep the Bush signs stocked.

I live in upstate NY and lost colleagues at the WTC.

I heard Kerry's remarks, direct from the horse's mouth, on CNN. Referring to 9/11 as "THAT RAID" was stupid at best and offensive at worse. It was a glimpse into his soul, and now everyone can see that he is so full of himself that he has no character at all. Rather than correcting himself in any way, he instead went on to rant about Tora Bora - more lies.

Of course, I have only seen this tape once. If anyone has a link to it, please post it so it can be passed around (including to Drudge). Kerry's reference to 9/11 as "THAT RAID" needs to be spread from the highest mount.

I called around 125 GOP and Independants today in SF Bay area of all places and only had one person say they would not vote for Bush. I know we will probably not carry CA but I believe we will bring in a lot of popular votes.

Yes, Gore and friends were in Miami...big event in the gay community at midnight Monday before the election.

But I'm surprised you don't remember Dubya in Arkansas that night. He made his last campaign stop around 10pm at an airport hanger somewhere in Ark...maybe Texarkana. It was fabulous.

When GW entered the arena, the speakers were blaring "Don't Stop Thinking About Tomorrow"...Freepers were asking..What the heck?! As GW reached the stage, the sound changed to a needle being dragged across a record and the music changed to "Won't Get Fooled Again"....everybody goes NUTS!

It was fun.

Yes, but in other states Bush is leading the early voting according to exit interviews. Actually I understand it is 51-47 nation wide for Bush

What is it about Florida that it would be atypical? I guess the obvious answer is vote fraud. Would that be possible?

Mark this post. I'm pretty certain that's the way it's going to go.

By jove I think you've nailed it.

Your analysis is why I've been sleeping so well all year.

We need to thank the DUmbos after the election for nominating another Mass liberal, and a peacenik gigilo to boot. LOL

I heard Matthew Dowd with the Bush-Cheney campaign on Hugh Hewitt this week (plus Kerry Spot had an anonymous insider tip with very similar info).

The early voting is going to Bush, all over the place including Florida.

Dowd said President Bush is drawing the majority of early votes though you'd never know it going by the MSM.

I was joking about BonJovi, et al, but I wouldn't doubt that Kerry would do ANYTHING to be Pres. And I do mean ANYTHING. I didn't see the FOX guy but sounds like Kerry. OUr country is going to be such a mess if he gets elected!

He has absolutely no concept of what's best for the country . . .just what HE wants. But do you even think HE knows what HE wants?

Our local weekly carried Walter's column and Rich Lowry's for a while (and now they carry Lowry and Don Kaul) and Cronkite has really evolved to become a barking moonbat.

I'm debating the same thing.

In 2000 I stuck with watching. That was a whip. I don't even want to think about that nite.

Thanks Dan. I thought I remembered hearing that the media was taken off guard. Then in 2000, Rush and Peggy Noonan (Broken Glass Republicans) really felt confident - but it got so messed up and the count was so close. I was surprised.

I think it was vote fraud and that George Bush received many more votes than were recorded, and thousands of votes across the nation which were counted for Gore were illegal.

Not much has been done about this and I pray we can pull off a win once more. This garbage has GOT to be dealt with as soon as the 2004 election is over.

These appeals to Democrats have produced a great speech line: My opponent has traded the vision of bearing any burden, paying any price and helping any friend for the more convenient "wait and see" and "cut and run."

sKerry's playing right into this, too. Just today, he was talking about Iraq and how he would quickly get "our boys home." Sane folks understand that, at this stage, our fighting men and women have a job to do in Iraq, and they want to complete the mission. Leaving Iraq is not an option - this is not and will not be Vietnam Part 2 no matter how much lurch may want it to be.

Kerry has been getting away with making stupid statments all of his political life - no one ever calls him on it.

I bet if all of the FReepers put together l list of all of Kerry's lies, misstatements, exaggerations, stupid remarks, insulting statements, etc., we could start tonight and not finish before election day. We would even have the evidence from newspapers and TV and he would deny, deny.

It is about time he should answer to some of them.

I guess Karl Rove lied when he said that they had a "few" October suprises. Unless you count Bin Ladin and Arab man

A phone bank out of India is cheaper and more dependable.

I'm sure that would get Bush another top headline in the N Y Slimes, and it probably wouldn't be an analysis of his frugal spending habits. LOL.

I'm in PA. My mother votes in every election, primary and general. Last week she was really impressed that she got a call from an R volunteer reminding her to get out and vote and asked her if she needed a ride to the poll. We get phone calls every election but no one ever asked about a ride before.

I'm impressed too.
