BUSH HAS THE MO [NRO, "The Corner" - another chat with Bush insider]
The Corner at NRO ^ | 10/30/04 | Katherine Jean Lopez

BUSH HAS THE MO [KJL]

That's the GOP message tonight as they work to the ends of the continental U.S. and beyond--to Honolulu!! Bush/Cheney is confident this Saturday night. They believe these last days will prove they have made significant inroads throughout the U.S. at the grassroots level. Starting yesterday, 150,000 volunteers are working in the tightest states, contacting 18 million voters to get out the vote for W. They say they’ve registered 3.4 million more Republicans since the last presidential election. That those GOTVers are volunteers, too, they say is significant.

In Florida alone—on Friday alone—GOP officials say volunteers knocked on 170,000 doors and made 200,000 calls. Though E Day they expect those numbers to hit 17,000 volunteers will 800,000 doors and 1.2 million calls. Just in Florida, a state where they’ve been confident for more than a few days now. But it’s not lackluster in Ohio either. GOP officials are saying 14,000 volunteers will knock on 400,000 doors and make 990,000 calls.

For them to carry FL, they have to have found at least 20,000 votes (some say as many as 50,000) to counter the Panhandle folks who were tircked into staying home last time. And his idea that they can get Florida because they have GOTV only is credible if you believe that Gore didn't have good GOTV in FL, which is not true. The dems have good GOTV everywhere except the reddest of red states, and it's that way every election.

He's saying the party line/bluffing/delusional/prepping for feigned surprise as part of Operation SoreLoserman II.

Truth is, Kerry is the worst candidate ever. Thank God for that.

And a sign of the times that a crep lying traitor like him could even br a viable candidate

I have no idea where those numbers come from. Think about it. They DO NOT read the votes in any voting machine until the polls close on Tuesday. As for exit polls, there's no way to do efficient exit polling on early voter patterns...it's just too unpredictable precinct by precinct.

That said, I suspect a lot of the "condo crowd" has been voting early...so I do expect Kerry would lead in that category. But he's not going to take Florida. Bet on it.

Did Kerry say that???

Yeah, he said it right after he dragged out the Tora Bora BS again. Deperation reigns...

He campaigned up until about 5 pm the nite before as I remember and went to texas where he did what candidates do, they spend election day with family, friends, vote and sit around. Al gore campaigned all nite long if you remember, he was crazed, he actually campaigned all election day if I remember, I could be wrong. But I do know he did an all nighter.

Even in the most unchurched state of the US (Washington) (and coincidentally with the highest rate of children going to bed hungry... tie those together please in the name of "compassionate liberals") Christian radio, TV and the pulpits have been hammering this "vote" message for months.

Think he'll go so far as setting up an alternate White House in one of his, er, Terraayyyzzzaaa's mansions?

How do John Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, and Michael Moore fit into his cabinet? :-)

I love the implications of this. Is there a groundswell for Bush running beneath the radar of national polls?

The silent majority? I sure hope and believe this is so.

However coming from the campaign it could be spin too, who knows, it won't be long now, hopefully.

If Bush loses I'll be depressed about it the rest of my life.

BUT I have never believed that would happen.

"I love the implications of this. Is there a groundswell for Bush running beneath the radar of national polls?"

IMHO, yes.

Case in point: tonight's ABC Radio News mentioned, at the end of the news brief, that Bush was leading in some new poll something like 56 - 49. That's a 7 point spread! Of course, rather than say something to the effect of "Bush now in a growing lead over Kerry," they simply mentioned the poll results without any of their usual colorful commentary.

Even with a lead in the polls, I am confident that there is an undercurrent of support for the President that is simply being missed by the Old Media and many of the pollsters. Registration is at an all time high, Usama Bin Hiden' pops up again and reminds everyone about 9/11, and many more people rely upon cell phones as their only phone line. In regards to the registration, there is an assumption that high numbers are a bonus for Kerry, but not this time. All of the factors are completely different. The extreme left's hatred for GWB is simply overwhelmed by the moderates and the right's comprehension that we are a nation at war, and that in the final analysis, Kerry simply isn't up to the challenge whereas President Bush as already proven himself as Commander-in-Chief.

Yeah, the Al-QaQaa thing was this year's DUI, and it's a dud. I don't expect they have any more ammo, just a little bit of spin here and there.

***Kerry campaign, just like their candidate, has NO sense of humor.***

The Dims just keep getting more and more shrill and angry, while the Reps are still civil and smiling and calmly pointing out the Pres.' view.

Can we say DESPARATION?!?!?! TEEHEE!

" I live in NJ "

How do you feel feel about Kerry calling 9/11 " a raid " by bin Laden in an interview to WISN, in Milwaukee on Friday.

"Democrat, Republican, there's no such thing," Kerry said. "There's just America and we are all united in hunting down and
capturing or killing those who conducted THAT RAID and we always knew that that was Osama bin Laden."

Kudos to Freeper ellery, on a prior thread, for finding the quote buried in the AP article-

"Think he'll go so far as setting up an alternate White House in one of his, er, Terraayyyzzzaaa's mansions?" Yes--remember how Gore picked Hazel O'Leary to start picking cabinet officers? Bet most people here have forgotten that embarassment. You know if he were an R the media would STILL be refering to it. "How do John Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen, and Michael Moore fit into his cabinet? :-)"

Bon Jovi--head of AARP

Bruce--head of Secret Service (he's been "undercover" as "non-partisan" for thirty years, just happens to always support Democrats--and of course no one can see through that disguise)

Michael Moore--Head of Dept. Of Disinformation/FDA...or Kerry's food taster

I remember how comfortable folks were before 2000.

Yea and then came 9/11, this time is different IMHO.

This is all psy-ops.

Yes, and no. The locations, crowds and rhetoric at the Kery, Edwards, Bush and Cheney speaking events show that Kerry is desperate and Bush is confident. Look at their schedules--why in the world would Kerry need to go to Madison, WI four days out from the election, much less bring Bruce Springsteen to ensure a big crowd?

That question may be less rhetorical than you probably meant it. Fox had a guy on today that seemed pretty non-partisan and when he was told Kerry's picks for the cabinet positions he came up with at least one or two reasons for each person that that person would NOT be a good pick or would not be able to be make it through the senate. Not one of his picks were acceptable to this guy. It almost looked like a SNL skit.

I told my husband, if Kerry can't even pick a respectable cabinet then how could he hope to do anything right. That is the most important thing, to put the right people around him.

I for one think Bush has the best cabinet - with the possible exception of Powell and only because he seemed a little squishy to me.

If there is any new real October Suprise, then we should know within 24 hours. I personally think the surprise will be about 8:30pm Tuesday night when al these news anchors try to explain what happened.

What kind of responses did you get? I got a call the other day and I told the volunteer we were counting the minutes until Tuesday so we could cast our votes. He could tell we were going to vote no matter what!
