RALEIGH, N.C. -- A camera battery caught part of vice-presidential candidate John Edwards' plane on fire shortly after takeoff at 10 p.m. Friday...

The plane was en route to Marietta, Ohio, after Edwards spent Friday evening in Raleigh at a rally that included a Jon Bon Jovi concert.

It's the most heat that Edwards has caused this whole campaign season.

Isn't this the second time Edwards has had trouble with his airplane?

Anyone see Hillary in the hangar before the flight?

"Camera battery." Uh-Huh. Call me crazy (likely I am) but to me this is the 2nd attempt on Edwards' life, via a plane, in the past couple of weeks. Hillary is somewhere twisting her mustache and expressing disappointment in the helpers she has dispatched to, er, um... dispatch John Edwards.

Isn't this the second time Edwards has had plane problems? In a month?

Call me paranoid but, after the offing of Wellstone are they just blatantly knocking people off now?

Hmm, killing off Edwards *would* cause a lot of sympathy votes for Kerry, *and* leave a opening for Lady Mao. Talk about MegaFix.

I never thought I'd say THIS, but we'd better pray for Edward's safety over the next few days.

Other owners of whatever type camera/batt that was would
probably like to know the brand and model.

Be sure to post it if it is ever disclosed.

... assuming the story is true ...

LOL. Right. Though there are those, sigh, even freepers, who will say we are crazy for even suggesting that it is almost statistically impossible for all these people to keep crashing in planes at really opportune times.

Once the Dems realized that Bush was beatable,
what they really wanted on the ticket was
"a candidate pair to be named later".

Right now, a unnamed candidate would not have
all Kerry's negatives. If he were to become
ineligible in the next 72 hours, it could make
a difference (the Carnahan scenario).

But the DNC doesn't have to kill Kerry. Hillary
could just dump Kerry's FBI and Naval records
to force his stepping down.

Ever since that black minister in the D.C. church introduced Edwards as a future President of the United States, things have been very dicey.

Edwards denied media reports that the fire started in his pants after he told one too many lies.

Interesting. Rush said something to the effect the other day. Minus the Hitlery angle. He said the Dems could run with no name on the ballot and do as well or better than with Kerry running.

I get a distinct feeling Kerry is very, very easily manipulated. And, that he has much to hide. And, I also agree Hillary probably is aware of every skeleton in his closet.

And it is funny, I do get the impression that Edwards and his bride are in waaay over their heads. They were used to being big fish in a little pond. He may end up a floating fish in a large pond.
