He seemed so pro-life too ... fighting to legislate regulations and bans on fetal tissue industry, working for the ban on partial birth abortion ... I guess he's shown his true colors if he'll endorse a man who has voted to defeat the ban on partial birth serial killing every time it has come up in the Senate. Apparently, his previous life work was not based on convictions but on personal empowerment. He'll fit right in with the DNC, that pack of liars and manipulators ...

"but when real votes (and lives) are at stake, he sides with the abortionist lobby."

Please point out in his voting record where abortion was supported.

There is a vote coming up on Tuesday. One man in that vote opposes abortion. The other not only supports abortion, but a form of infanticide known as partial birth abortion. Lives are at stake on Tuesday.

Bob Smith has chosen to use his prominence (such as it is) to bring votes to the man who supports abortion and infanticide.

Clear enough for you?

As endorses and votes for Kerry in 2004, that is a clear vote for unlimited abortion!

You'll get more reason talking to a brick wall than "true conservatives" such as Bob Smith and his supporters.

For Bob SMith to cross party lines he'd have to endorse Bush. :)

Actually that is how I feel about Arnold Swartzie's endorsement.....!!

That is not the issue on which he decided to support Kerry. You cannot pick out just one issue, and make that the only issue. And while you are on the subject of one of the few issues on which Bush is fairly Conservative, you might have the honesty to acknowledge that he has not been all that strong himself in attacking legalized abortion.

Again, I do not agree with Bob in supporting Kerry. I am simply here to defend his honor.

Sounds like Al Gore to me. He did not take the defeat in 2000 graciously and is stll whining as we speak.

It's unbelievable, isn't it?

I mean, I don't think that Bush has been our greatest president...not by a long shot. He has left conservatives in the lurch (so to speak) on a number of important issues.

So, am I thrilled to vote for Bush. No, not really. But I'll be d*mned if I vote for a man who thinks that piercing a live baby's skull and vacuuming out it's brain is just dandy.

In this one moment, Bob Smith has revealed his true character. I think that many of his supporters will come to see this eventually.

Yes, but Smith could have chosen to remain silent!

Instead, he is asking people to vote for a man who thinks that it's just dandy to pierce a live baby's skull and vacuum out its brains. That may not be an issue on which Smith has endorsed Kerry, but it is ludicrous and inexcusable for him to ignore it.

The only possible explanation is that Smith just doesn't care that much about the fate of the unborn. If that is his position, so be it. But that tells me that he seriously misrepresented himself while he was NH's Senator.

As for honor, there is no honor in betraying millions of unborn children in order to settle a political score. Of honor, men like Bob Smith know nothing.

He has no honor. Whether or not you think the war effort or economy has been bungled, how many lives is it taking? Is it anywhere close to the 1.3 MILLION babies killed a year thru abortion?

Even if you say that abortion will continue after Bush, you cannot avoid the fact that a Kerry Presidency and the Supreme court justices he would appoint would set back the pro-life cause for at least 25 years. That is 30 million dead.

Yeah, defend Smith's "honor".

There is nothing Clintonesque about my remarks on this thread.

I made it very clear that I cannot in conscience support either Bush or Kerry--or Nader for that matter. I made it clear that I did not think either of them morally fit to groom George Washington's horse. You may parse that anyway that you like, but there is nothing evasive about it.

That in no way takes anything away from my statement that Bob Smith is an honorable man.

Actually, I used to call Bob Smith 'friend'.

But there is no honor in this.

Like I said, he's lost it.

I'm not going to get in a flame war over your obstinance. Face it Smith is a bitter person who endorses a pro-abortion candidate, nothing honorable about that, especially given Smith's supposed pro-life "principle".

Give it a rest.

Neither Bush nor Kerry, nor Bob Smith has made the abortion issue a central issue of this campaign. They have avoided that, for the most part, as they have avoided the immigration issue, which potentially effects a lot more yet to be born Americans even than abortion.

On the other hand, they have chosen to fight on the War on Terror and the economy. In my opinion, both Bush and Kerry are very, very dangerous on those subjects. But I am not interested in playing a role in their fight right now, so I will save any further analysis on that until after the election. I do not want to contribute anything to the debate between two men, whom I personally hold in disdain.

Again, your comments are off the mark so far as Bob Smith is concerned.

Well, since Kerry and Bush aren't talking about abortion, I guess the Supreme Court justices they appoint for life will avoid the subject as well.
