Stories circulated today that the new OBL video was much less bipartisan than at first believed, and that unedited versions of the tape included threats against the Bush family and several Cabinet members.

I think this is only the transcript of the 5 minutes which was aired, not the full 18 minutes.

On TV people were referring to other things that are not in any of the released transcripts, such as specific threats to Bush and family and much more against Bush, than the released portion would lead people to believe.

They said on FNC that only 5 minutes of the 18 minutes was released because of security concerns. The Bush threats were mentioned as part of that 13 minutes held back.

Thanks for posting that transcript. But I still find it hard to believe it is the entire transcript--if it is true as reported, that the tape runs for 18 minutes.

Unless UBL is a very slow talker, I bet they are still editing things out.

I'm not sure I think they should show these tapes on TV. I'm not concerned about it making things better or worse for Bush or Kerry, but I'm very concerned that it might contain coded messages, which wouldn't be something like "I'll get you Bush" or whatever, nothing straight forward like that. It could also just be an inspiration to some wanna be jihadi. Who probably lives about 3 blocks from me.

I confused. I thought on FOX today, they said Al-Jazeera only showed 5 minutes of an 18 minute tape. The only other thing I heard was that of the part that was edited, it included statements regarding the Bush family.
