WASHINGTON DC, USA, Oct. 29, 2004 (CNA) - In a brief interview with the Hispanic television network Univision, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry justified his support for abortion by saying the act is a decision between the woman, God and her doctor.
Kerrys response to the question was eliminated from the transcript of the interview which Univision posted on its website.
Nevertheless, the response was included in the televised version as millions of Hispanics tuned in.
After speaking on Iraq, eventual immigration reform and the economy, reporter Maria Elena Salinas said, Some sectors of the Catholic Church are concerned because you support abortion and therefore you would be going against its teachings, to which Kerry responded: I am against abortion.
Salinas then asked if he would name justices to the Supreme Court who would be willing to limit abortion. Kerry replied, I am in favor of the right to choose. Personally I am opposed to abortion, but I believe this is a decision that should be made by the woman, God and her doctor.
A partial transcript of the interview with Kerry, excluding the question on abortion, can be read in Spanish at: http://www.univision.com/content/content.jhtml?cid=484440&pagenum=1
Get this nugget of hypocrisy to every leftist chat room and message board you know of...
I'd love to be a fly on the wall when John Kerry discusses abortion with God.
Many Hispanics are Catholic and are against abortion. That would really hurt John Kerry.
AND PAID FOR BY THE TAXPAYER'S MONEY STOLEN BY THE STATE...
Please be serious #1. The libs are quite comfortable knowing that Kerry's ritual catholic gestures and conservative morality poses are just for the duration of the election. It reminds me of Gore & Liebermans ritualistic tongue-lashing of tinseltown going into '00. Just for show (wink-wink) and most everyone knows it.
I don't think you can be very sure of that --- drive by the abortion mills along the border some day --- check out how many Mexican plates there are. I could drive by the nearby hispanic Catholic Church tomorrow and take pictures of the cars parked outside --- it would amaze you how many Kerry bumper stickers you see on the cars --- even of those who go to church.
Most blacks are against abortion too --- but that doesn't stop them from voting for the extreme pro-abortion liberals.
In a brief interview with the Hispanic television network Univision, Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry justified his support for SLAVERY by saying the act is a decision between the slave owner, God and his slave-trader.
The tortured to death baby...he or she's father...and the grandparents have no say in the matter...
Thus speaketh THE STATE ( aka G. Soros and his new sock puppet John F Kerry)
True. Sadly, ethnic identity also comes with who you vote for. Many Hispanics and Blacks vote Democratic, even though it does not reflect their values.
well said
I think you can bet that at most only 1/3 of the hispanics will vote for Bush --- abortion isn't really a big issue for them --- they're more interested in expanding Medicaid programs, and the taxing the "rich" and giving the tax refunds to the non-working instead.
Kerry a jellyfish not very appealing to the Hispanics. We love a person with cahones(spelling)
Well G-d's already given us His opinion, JohnHe's against it.
My 87-year old mother is staunchly anti-abortion. And she has NEVER voted for an anti-abortion candidate. That's because she has also been, for her entire life, a radical trade-union socialist.
Some hispanics are very strongly pro-life and will actually vote that way --- but honestly I think they're outnumbered by hispanics who have had abortions. Hispanics have abortions at higher rates than do whites --- blacks have them at even higher rates --- but supposedly both groups are more against abortion than are whites on surveys.
Most Hispanics I know are conservative. Most Hispanics are in the lower rung of the social ladder and will want to support Medicaid and taxing the "rich".
Clinton was a jellyfish and got something like 80% of the hispanic vote in his second election. There are good solid Hispanic Conservatives --- but they aren't a majority.
I'd love to see the final debate between God and her doctor.
He didn't even get the litany right, it's "between a woman, her spiritual advisor and her medical provider."
