Oct. 30 - After months of the tightest presidential election contest in recent memory, a new NEWSWEEK poll suggests momentum may be moving toward President George W. Bush. As the bitter campaign enters its final days, against the eerie backdrop of a surprise appearance by Osama Bin Laden, Bushs lead is still within the polls margin of error, but its larger than last week. If the election were held today, 50 percent of likely voters would go for Bush and 44 percent would go for Kerry. (Ralph Nader would receive 1 percent.) That compares to a Bush lead last week among likely voters of 48 to 46 percent.
In a two-way trial heat, excluding Nader, Bush/Cheney would defeat Kerry/Edwards 51 percent to 45 percent. Last week Bush led 48 to 47 in the two-way contest.
The poll finds the race closer among registered voters. Forty-eight percent of registered voters would vote for Bush and 44 percent would vote for Kerry. One percent would vote for Nader. In a two-way race, 48 percent would vote for Bush/Cheney and 45 percent would vote for Kerry/Edwards. The worse news for Kerry: in the last lap of the race, the number of persuadables is falling. Now 9 percent of registered voters say they havent made up their minds who to vote for, down from 13 percent last week, and just six percent of likely voters say they havent decided.

BTTT
Being a newbie what does BTTT stand for?
Zogby is now officially in far left field. An outlier, if you will.
Gee, nice try NYSlime, SeeBS, and RATS - Weapons thing didn't seem to work. Bush would be up 20 if the media was even close to fair.
Schwing!
Yesterday FOX had it 50-45. I don't know how these polls can show a 5+ point lead this late and not have it mean something.
Of course we normally have to figure in the October Surprise (3 points) and voter fraud (2 points) but maybe the dems have already shot their surprise.
I hope so. This week has been tough enough.
I guess Zogby will have 3 days to slowly move the poll back to Bush, so that he can say he was correct on his final poll.
More margin of error nonsense.
If it's 50 to 44 in Bush's favor, margin of error means it could just as easily be 51 as 49.
WOOHOOOOOO!!!!
And yet this Newsweek guy (and everyone else on TV) says it's a "close, close" race. Gag.
This poll has a six percent margin of error? What'd they do, poll 52 people?
Fantastic news, in fact! This confirms the Fox poll from yesterday. Bush is in the lead and by a comfortable margin.
Onward to victory!
Newsweek is in the tank for the dems, and they still can't spin it for their man! Let's get ready to rumble !!!
Bump to the top. Replying helps keep the thread at the top of the list of threads.
I'm watching him right now on MSNBC; dead even he's saying.
If this was Kerry, one can only imagine what he would be saying.
YYYEEEEEHHHHAAAAWWWWW!! This is fantastico!! GO BUSH!!
FOX Opinion Dynamics poll to release this afternoon. This one is also important, because it is post-OBL in part.
