I believe the Teachers Unions endorse Kerry.
Of course teachers can vote as they wish (even though a portion of their salaries are donated to the DNC via their Union dues).
I don't know enough teachers to get a feel for their tendencies, but I think having to inform their students of the 9/11 tragedy was a profound event for teachers. My sons' schools suspended classes and allowed the students to gather 'round the TV's the rest of the day. The following days' conversations were certainly dominated by the news.
