Today, John Kerry departed from his prepared remarks in Orlando, Florida to unleash a cry that can be summed up in one word: Desperation.
"Wake up America, wake up. ... You have a choice," he said.
Telling America to 'wake up' is not a message for the future, it is the cry of a flailing candidate who has no momentum and is reaching the end of the line.
Kerry definitely has psychological problems as it is. He has low self esteem and tries to over come it by being "the champion" of all causes. He is not comfortable in his own skin and probably has had issues with his father since childhood. He is a phony of the highest caliber.
You are right -- I forgot about Dole saying that -- he kept asking the people to wake up. We did in Texas -- Clinton almost came in 3rd and did in my County! :)
Here is a link with Bob Dole using the exact same verbage, in 1996:

SHUT UP, KERRY, SHUT UP... YOU HAVE NO CHANCE, I SAY.
They did not use this in 2000 but what I would expect from someone who just signed up this week. You trolls are getting worse and worse and easier to spot by the day -- guess we have had a ton of practice. But then some of us were doing the same thing in 2000 -- dumb comments/lies for the most part came from new posters.
Great move, Kerry. You only tell people to wake up if they are acting like immature little kids with no concept of danger. Nice way to alienate more voters.
To ALL Freepers and Lurker voters:GO to the polls and vote for Bush. Take your friends with you to do the same. If you know any Zell Miller type Democrats that support Bush and they are voting for him, take them as well.
Vote EARLY to avoid the rush. If you wait until November 2nd, make SURE to go and vote!! And if you do wait until November 2nd, remember:
IGNORE ANYTHING IN THE MEDIA YOU HEAR (i.e., making a fast, early call in Florida for Kerry, etc.). WE CAN AVOID A REPEAT OF THE FLORIDA ELECTION DEBACLE OF 2000 THIS YEAR IF GOP TURNOUT IS STRONG, imho.
[Expletive deleted] !!!
I am sorry -- I thought you said they used this same rhetoric. My apologies.
We may be in our pajamas, but I assure you, we are fully awake!
Oh I know... I frequent the ABC boards and the loons always say that...
"Wake up, America"... Like we're not paying attention or they know something we don't.
Liberals are idiots. Even the intelligent ones.
Kerry Van Wrinkle is acting like he's just woke up after 20 years of being in a coma, mouth furiously spewing about his "Plans" which are totally disconnected concerning today's realities.
Put some ice on it, John.
I for one can't wait 'till he says "good night" for the last time. It's Bush by a surprize landslide.
One important thing: IGNORE THE POLLS!!! The only poll that matter is Tuesday...
I have a problem doing that while listening to the snooze button of American politics. John Kerry.
** WARNING: SOME MAY FIND THE FOLLOWING ANALOGY GRUESOME. LURKER DISCRETION IS ADVISED **
John Kerry shouting "Wake up, America!" is just the sign we ought to look for. He's like a baby seal who sees that Canadian Club, and knows that no matter what he does, the WHOMP is coming, and he's gonna be a fur coat at Bloomingdale's.
Kerry is begging for votes!!! LOL If this isn't a desperate attempt to appeal to the lowest common denominator in politics, I don't know what is. It's been pretty obvious that for the last several weeks, Kerry has been in crisis mode. His campaign poll internals must have indicated a sure win for Bush. Why else would Kerry, or anyone for that matter, rely strictly on negative politics and campaigning. There is no other answer for the endless personal attacks on Bush and the red herring sophism. Kerry is gonna lose and he knows it.
