I mentioned here a few days age that we had a bit of sign war going on in my neighborhood, like in many other areas...but this was priceless.

Several days ago, the two house's next to me had their Bush Signs stolen, by kids. I was actually up and heard them go by, but I was at my window so they didn't bother with mine. The next morning we noticed that our neighbors signs were stolen.

So my wife and I, have been taking down the Bush sign at night, putting it back up in the morning.

I forgot this morning to put it back up. Around 11am, a woman who lives a few blocks away stopped at my house and asked " I notice that your Bush sign is down. Have you changed your mind about him?" Then I explained what happened.

She proceeded to tell me of her Bush sign troubles and said she noticed when our neighbors signs went down, but the local GOP candidates stayed up; then she noticed my Bush sign was missing.

She said she had to stop and ask me if I changed my mind, along with my neighbors. She said she was getting very worried about the election.

I asked her if she had anything to do with the local campaigns or Bush 2004 and she said "nope, I'm just a Mom wanting to do what she could to make sure the right man gets elected".

I am totally blown away by this. That a perfect stranger would stop, ring my bell and asked me why I took my sign down.

I am telling you folks...I think there are a lot more people out there like this...for the first time in this campaign, I am feel really good about New Jersey, for Bush!

Great story. I believe the Republican voters are more motivated. NOTHING will stop ME from voting on Tuesday.

I'm getting the same feeling here in Massachusetts. People are worried about terrorism. I'm hearing life-long Democrats saying things (quietly) I've never heard them say before. The polls are going to be way off this year. Bush will be getting a lot of votes the pollsters don't anticipate.

I had a salesman come by my door last night. After I told him I was not interested he started asking me about my Bush sign. After talking a little bit he told that his son was a Marine in Iraq and that his son has convinced him to vote for Kerry. I talked a while with him and he started walking away when the conversation got to France and the UN. I have a feeling this old guy only sells to houses with Bush signs in the front lawn.

The same thing happen to my mom when her sign was stolen except a democrat ask her if she changed her mind after watching the debates :-) Needless to say my mom told him where to shove it.

As far as I can tell, my blue collar democrat brothers and sisters (all five of them) are voting for Bush. Most of them are FORMER democrats now. They all live in "Gore" states. Nothing wrong with expecting good, as long as we don't get complacent in these last few important days.

NBC Today did a segment on political vandalism this morning. Aside from one guy who allegedly threatened to kill his girlfriend if she voted for Kerry, it looked like everything else was Dim vandalism. Sign stealing, cars spray painted, windows broken. Some milque-toast shrink was on saying how these people are lashing out because they "feel threatened", as if that's some kind of an excuse for acting like dirtbags. I got a laugh out of a man who was shown wiring his Bush/Cheney sign for electrical shock. "It's not enough to hurt anybody, just enough to tell them to leave my sign alone." Heh heh.

That is very clever and would be fairly effective. I hope you are wrong but for some reason I think you are right in your assumption.

We put our Bush-Cheney sign out this past Sunday. The only democrat on the block was out at the time. I feared some sort of words would pass between us. Instead, she said "I like that sign." Amazed, I said, Is that who you're voting for? She said yes.

It rained steadily and heavily for the next two days. We had flash flood warnings in effect. The sign is merely a cardboard one, not one of those fancy all-weather plastic ones, -- we got it for free at Rep HQ when my husband went in to make "get the vote out" calls. I thought I would find it a heap of water-soaked paper on the ground after the rains, but it is still standing straight and proud as thought it is brand new, the rain didn't effect it one bit. Not to carry that to an extreme, but somehow I feel this is a very good "sign."

Aside from one guy who allegedly threatened to kill his girlfriend if she voted for Kerry,

I hadn't heard that one. In 2000, my Mom was in the tail end of her battle with cancer (needing Oxygen 24/7 and morphine) my sister and I were discussing the coming election. My Mom was a lifelong Dem (had to because she worked for the county) but a Reagan & Bush 41 supporter. But she always kept quiet about who she voted for, at least with us. So my sister and I are nagging her to tell us and she finally breaks down and says she voting for Gore. My sister and I almost start crying...then the harassment begins and without missing a beat my sister and I both say "Gore, huh??? Well who's taking you to the polls". Well my mother lost it...she started laughing and says "You rotten kids aren't going to take your dying mother to polls...that's it, your both outta my will!!!" She had a good sense of humor. She never did tell us why she was voting for Gore. Sometimes I believe that she just said that to bust our chops. All of my conservative values come from her - God, family, pro-life...all of it. I can't believe she pulled the lever for Algore.

I'm also highly motivated to vote for Bush even though I live in Illinois. There is nothing going to stop me from going to the polls even though predictions from the press put Kerry up by 6 points in this state. I just want to make sure I help push up the total number of the "nationwide popular vote", and who knows? If Bush manages to win in a landslide, it's going to feel real good having helped Bush take Illinois.

Three of the neighbors down my street are sporting Kerry signs (one obnoxious house has Kerry, Ross, and Gregoire in their front yard.) In the past two days, they've disappeared from two of the houses. I don't think they were stolen, I think the owners had second thoughts.

Of the three Kerry signs that were there over the weekend, one sign remains, one is propped up against the side of the owner's house (tucked out of sight) and one is gone altogether. I'm tempted to ring the doorbell of the last person and ask what happened to the sign.

OK..is the "house" obnoxious or the people that dwell in it? Seriously, if you should ask those people about their missing sign, let me know what you find out. I am truly interested. I am doing the same thing around...the only trouble is, all the people I know are Bush supports and and Kerry supporters...well, we just ignore them.

All of this signage theft and vandalism by Democrats is PURELY VOTER INTIMIDATION. The FBI should investigate because it is an attempt by a national organization to willfully intimindate voters using violence and theft.

Won't happen but it is certainly more deserving than Bill Clinton's phony church fire scare of the 1990s.
