Brit Baer on Fox News just announced. Coming up in 1 hour.
Update: 3ID soldier to have briefing about collecting and destroying 200 tons of explosives on April 13.
If it wasn't the missing stuff, it's because it was already gone. He doesn't need to be an expert to know that he destroyed what he did find.
Why isn't the press asking what did Saddam remove from the bunkers before the invasion? Just think, if they LEFT 380 tons of conventional explosives, what would be more important to remove and hide in (as Rummy's photo's show truck movements days before) Syria - WMD's. It is possible Gertz and Rummy are both right. The Russians moved other major weapons/wmd before the war. The US Army removed TONS of conventional explosives after the invasion.
Good grief - why does the press go stupid when it might help Bush.

>>Yep. Terrible move not to wait until they had someone specifically saying HMX or RDX was removed or destroyed.<<
Unless, of course, that comes "next." It looks like Bush is just stringing this out... 8^>
That is what I've been trying to say. You summed it up well.
The DUMBOCRATS need to face reality: "SENATOR KERRY IS NOT COMMANDER IN CHIEF MATERIAL"(period)!
They are just the volunterr wHor(d)es...
No, they will just willfully "misunderstand" his point and claim that the Pentagon is only doing "damage control." The reporters were very clearly implying that the major's story is irrelevant. They are being deliberately obtuse in not understanding the point, which is, "We don't even know if the "380 tons" existed, or even where it was supposedly kept! (underlying message, you idiots!)"
Rush is saying the UN wanted this destroyed in 1995 or 1996, but the el-Baridia (sp) and inspectors didn't destroy it because they didn't think it significant.
I'd heard that they couldn't even confirm that video was shot at al Caca. Or when exactly. Is that the case?
Folks - this is REALLY easy to understand. The voter will have to figure out who to believe in this - our military or the MSM. Bush wins that argument because people:
a)Want to believe our military
b)the CBS FORGED DOCUMENTS WILL BE A POINT OF REFERENCE!
Checkmate for Bush!
Rush says we are "on the verge of a political disaster" for John Kerry.
What really caught my attention was the Major's (and, God bless him, the honesty with which he answered questions made it clear he wasn't "coached" or anything) response to Brett Bair's question about the feasibility of non-US forces removing that amount of material in about a 20 day period.
The Major answered that it wouldn't be that big of a deal for someone with 20 some odd trucks to move that amount (250 tonnes). In fact, he said something like "a day".
Now, this undoubtedly would have been noticed by forces in the area, so this comment only speaks to the relative ease with which this stuff could be packed and moved by people with sufficient resources.
Anyway, putting an active duty soldier at the rostrum in full uniform makes him untouchable to the Kerry folks, so whatever he says, goes in this briefing. BC-04 can cite his comments as fresh proof that nobody really knows what the specifics were, that it is still unlikely that such an amount could be moved and not detected after the invasion and that John Kerry was irresponsible in his rush to judgement on this story.
See what Grampa Dave just posted at #863!
Exactly right. We were not negligent, as Kerry, et al claim. We did have units in place to take care of these situations.
or like the orcs after watching the dark tower crumble...
I've seen Don Rumsfeld reduce Barbara Starr and her other female Pentagon correspondent (name?) reduced to giggling like 12 year olds.
Prairie
Please keep quiet unless you have something constructive to say.
I could not agree with you more! My heart breaks for these brave men and women who have to hear about this from back home.
If Kerry wins(not that he will) I too fear for the safety of EVERY American citizen. He can't even touch a dead goose, yet he wants to be leader of the greatest country in the world?
