Armed Group Claims to Have Iraq Explosives "BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- An armed group claimed in a video Thursday to have obtained a large amount of explosives missing from a munitions depot facility in Iraq and threatened to use them against foreign troops. A group calling itself Al-Islam's Army Brigades, Al-Karar Brigade, said it had coordinated with officers and soldiers of "the American intelligence" to obtain a "huge amount of the explosives that were in the al-Qaqaa facility." The claim couldn't be independently verified. The speaker was surrounded by masked, armed men standing in front of a black banner with the group's name on it in the tape obtained by Associated Press Television News. "We promise God and the Iraqi people that we will use it against the occupation forces and those who cooperate with them in the event of these forces threatening any Iraqi city," the man added.
Nearly 400 tons of conventional explosives have disappeared from the al-Qaqaa facility south of Baghdad, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency..." |

LOL, okay, that helps a little Keith.
Maybe this guy didn't read enough of the articles yesterday on the missing explosives...the stuff's been missing since the Spring of 2003, and they've just now decided they might use it.
Sure!
We can thank the NYTimes and John Kerry for giving the terrorists a "new threat" to use (a baseless threat, but still a threat).
How do you even run with this story if you are the AP? It's laughable. In what alternate universe would either the CIA or the military give explosives away to a bunch of obvious terrorists.. Hello?
It's gotten way out of hand though.
Oh God!
I'd LOVE to see sKerry run with this bullsqueeze.
OK, let me get this straight... a termorist video says ''we're going to kill americans before the election'' and the media can't report it unless it's verified.
Another terrorist says ''Bush gave them explosives'' and it's rushed to print.
Hmmmm... no bias here.
I hope they do and run with it. The only ones who'll believe it are the truly insane. By the way what are they saying about this over at the DUmmie site [grin]?
Agree - they must have skimmed the headlines. The timing is bizarre and truth will out.
I think this is a new low. His Vietnam protesting could possibly be written off as from another era, as damaging as it was. His statements against the Iraq war could be merely seen as wrongheaded policy.
His grasping at the bogus explosives story shows that if push comes to shove at a critical time, he will sell us all out if he thinks it will help his own sorry butt.
I knew that he hadn't changed his slimy spots, but I didn't expect him to display it in such an obvious and public fashion.
"A group calling itself Al-Islam's Army Brigades, Al-Karar Brigade, said it had coordinated with officers and soldiers of "the American intelligence" to obtain a "huge amount of the explosives that were in the al-Qaqaa facility.""
HAHAHAHAHAHA....
Apparently it's a different version because I searched using the headline as the criteria prior to posting.
I do not go there
I'm sure that CBS will be reporting it tomorrow. Rather will have some guy with a hood over his head saying that he got it from US intelligence.
Come on, by law this stuff should have the "I'm John Kerry and I approve this message" at the end of each story on this.
bizarre
I can't wait to see our military respond to this. Kerry needs to be run over once and for all. I'm waiting for the RNC's new ad..Treason: Guess who's back!
"We are the Iraqi Free Republic. We want everyone out of our country. Especially other Iraqi's"... lets send the tape to the AP and await the news article.
