| Armed Group Claims to Have Iraq Explosives "BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) -- An armed group claimed in a video Thursday to have obtained a large amount of explosives missing from a munitions depot facility in Iraq and threatened to use them against foreign troops. A group calling itself Al-Islam's Army Brigades, Al-Karar Brigade, said it had coordinated with officers and soldiers of "the American intelligence" to obtain a "huge amount of the explosives that were in the al-Qaqaa facility." The claim couldn't be independently verified. The speaker was surrounded by masked, armed men standing in front of a black banner with the group's name on it in the tape obtained by Associated Press Television News. "We promise God and the Iraqi people that we will use it against the occupation forces and those who cooperate with them in the event of these forces threatening any Iraqi city," the man added.

Agree - they must have skimmed the headlines. The timing is bizarre and truth will out.
I think this is a new low. His Vietnam protesting could possibly be written off as from another era, as damaging as it was. His statements against the Iraq war could be merely seen as wrongheaded policy.
His grasping at the bogus explosives story shows that if push comes to shove at a critical time, he will sell us all out if he thinks it will help his own sorry butt.
I knew that he hadn't changed his slimy spots, but I didn't expect him to display it in such an obvious and public fashion.
