Need help interpreting something from 1971 interview that seems to me verifies that kerry had a dishonorable discharge - Debbie: Was there every any question about you being dishonorably discharged? Kerry: oh no, no, that has never been questioned.
prior background threads October Surprise??? Navy Chief (from SBVT site) Navy:Undesirable/General Discharges for Civilian Misconduct While on Inactive Duty Reserve Status
my apologies about the relink.
It's funny. In this quote, It sure sounds like Kerry is saying he was definately dishonorably discharged.
We should look up articles from this reporter to see if there was any mention at the time.
in this video, you can also see
kerry gets asked how many medals he threw over the fence
kerry not know how many medals he was awarded
the interviewer says "well, you were award a bronze star, a silver star, and TWO purple hearts" which contradicts kerry's record of 3 purple hearts, and may give more credance to the thought that one of the purple hearts was a fraud
you also hear recycled catch phrases "the wrong war"
I betrayed our country as a young man, and I'll betray it as...
Absent a full disclosure of all his pertinent military records, which would require Kerry's signature on an SF180, you are just not going to find absolute "confirmation" of anything other than an Honorable discharge. That said, the fact that Kerry has consistently avoided signing like the plague, speaks volumes to anyone who has been paying attention...

kerry testified to Congress, to commotting atroces/war craimes, actively worked with the N. Viet. to undermine our men. He is without a doubt the most openly tresonous person to ever be nominated for the office of the Presidency. NOTHING could be more clear! He IS a crimmina!
It would be funny if someone "found" a dishonerable discharge certificate for Kerry and sent it to a friendly news source. A sort of Rather memogate in reverse.
...all in fun, of course.
unfortunately, with this election, i think the "main stream" media has shown it's hand in how bias it's reporting is. what is worse, is that no federal agency (fcc?) has done anything about rathergate, nor investigated the memo by ABC which said that it didn't need to be objective.
Anyway, I though that if enough people agreed that this q&a of kerry sounded like he had a dishonorable discharge, that it could be used by someone to ask kerry if this was the reason for lack of full disclosure of his service record, and his refusal for signing form 180.
it should be okay, since the content would be true...
First, this issue is compounded by a confusion of terms. In the military, only enlisted are discharged, officers are separated, retired, or dismissed. Dismissal is the equivlent of a Dishonorable Discharge that enlisted receive. It can only be given through conviction of a general courts-martial. But both enlisted and officers receive a form when the leave the military. It is a DD (Department of Defense) Form 214, Record of Service. On that form is recorded a reason for discharge or separation as well as a term describing the individual's "Character of Service." A person's Character of Service can be described as Honorable or not Honorable. I think this is what many are referring to when they talk about Kerry receiving or not receiving a honorable discharge.
I would think that a good hacker might be able to access these records? Or am I being naive?
Carolyn
I understand that there is some confusion about officers being released from service if they are not promoted after two reviews, or are no longer necessary for the service (excess personnel, etc).
the reason that I am trying to have people review this video, is that, I feel that kerry was asked if anyone had said anything about his dishonorable discharge, and that he says no. Not no, there was not a dishonorable discharge, but, no, there had not been any comments about it.
You are, of course, correct, but since the MSM doesn't care it will never happen.
I am having trouble loading the c-span page, and the video, but it does play. I also had to upgrade my real player to be able to play it recently.
I cannot say for certain if this would be possible, or not. I don't know if these records are still being maintained in "hard copy", like they used to be, or if there is a digital database utilized these days.
If they've gone digital, it is theoretically possible to hack, and obtain the pertinent files, but how difficult it would be, I have no idea, nor am I posessed of sufficient skill to even consider the notion of trying...

sorry everone, i must apologize and post a retraction.
in the interview, where i thought I heard Two purple hearts, it is actually Three.
When I had listened to the interview, it had poor audio quality, and I misheard the words.
I am sorry for any confusion this may have caused, it was not an intentional mistake.
