I tried taking some pics of the eclipse, but they aren't very exciting. So, I wrote to my astronomer/photographer buddy (a Marine before he was a PD sergeant; now retired). This picture only shows a bit of his "little" set-up. (He has equipment in an enclosure that he can roll around his driveway. I may have a picture of that around here somewhere. I found this picture online.) ... He's also had photos published as cover shots on some astronomy magazines. Before that, he perfected some crime scene photography techniques and got some awards for that stuff. Your typical slacker. ;)

Your friend reminds me of one of my brothers. Amateur astronomy photographer. Never published, but I'm sure he could be if he'd turn some of his photos in. He has some real nice equipment, and knows how to use it. Moon, if you're here, share some pics with us.
