snip- In Florida, where liberal independent Ralph Nader is on the ballot, the poll found Bush leading Kerry among likely voters, 51% to 43%, with Nader attracting 2% and 4% undecided.
In Ohio, where Nader is not on the ballot, Kerry leads Bush by 50% to 44%, with 6% undecided, the poll found. In Pennsylvania, where Nader also will not be on the ballot, Bush and Kerry both draw 48%, with 4% undecided.
-snip-
The cross pressures are evident in voters such as Wendy Fesmire, a school crossing guard and stay-at-home mother from Holland, Pa., who is still undecided. She does not like Bush's proposal for a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage, and she is uneasy about the direction of events in Iraq. But she is reluctant to remove from office "a commander in chief that's been broken in, so to speak."
She added: "I have some misgivings about whether Kerry would be able to follow through on keeping our world safe. I don't agree with everything Bush has done on Iraq, but I think he is doing a good job of keeping terrorists out of our country."
For ambivalence, though, Fesmire can't match Sherri Pannell, a retired courier in Yulee, Fla., who responded to the poll. Pannell voted for Kerry in the state's early voting. But she was deeply upset when the candidate's wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry, recently said that Laura Bush had never held a "real job."
"Can I take back my vote?" she asked in an interview.

Jeez. These things are all over the place.
""Can I take back my vote?" she asked in an interview."
LOL hahaha... the Kerry voters are upset they even voted for him.
The LA Times is hating this....
Obligatory for any LA Times poll thread:

Poll Shows Bustamante Leading Schwarzenegger
LOS ANGELES Lieutenant Governor Cruz Bustamante has a significant lead over actor Arnold Schwarzenegger in the recall race according to the latest poll.
An LA Times poll released today finds 35 percent backing Bustamante, a Democrat, and 22 percent supporting Schwarzenegger, a Republican.

I don't buy any of it. I hope the Bush campaign has a handle on this stuff.
ping
In all fairness, was that LA Times poll from 8/24/03? "082403_nw_recall_poll.html"
If so, couldn't the race have changed?
These people are delusional if they think Bush is 6 points down in Ohio. He will take Ohio and Florida. I do agree Pa is much more of a challenge, but doable.
Please add me to this ping list as well. Thanks.
The election will occur in Congress on January 6, 2005.
You are a mean, nasty character to bring up that old poll on the Cal governor's race. The LA Times tried real hard on that poll, but their people are just not very smart.....lol. /sarcasm off
PING
Funny, but other polls showed Arnold leading from wire to wire...
"Can I take back my vote?" she asked in an interview."
No, you stupid twit - you can't. If Kerry wins, I hope it is because of your single vote, you brain dead moron.
You can understand Florida, as Bush has been trending up there, but how could Bush possibly now be down in Ohio by 6 points! Bush was up by about three, what, earlier this afternoon? That's a NINE point swing! No Way!
I am willing to believe that Bush is up eight in Florida (only because Gallup said so earlier this week) and that Pennsylvania is essentially tied (mainly because Bush is spending lots of time campaigning there -- way too much time for a mere head fake). I don't believe for a nanosecond that Kerry is six points ahead of Bush in Ohio.
The pollsters for the LA Times are about as much on the up and up as ACORN's voter registrars.
Oh, ok. Thanks... I didn't follow the race.
I need aspirin. Their is something fudgy that doesn't pass the smell test on these polls.
