CAROLINE KENNEDY TO BUSH: STOP INVOKING MY FATHER
DRUDGE ^ | 10/27/04

WASHINGTON, DC *In response to George W. Bush's invocation of prominent Democrats including President John F. Kennedy, Kennedy's daughter Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg issued this statement. "It's hard for me to listen to President Bush invoking my father's memory to attack John Kerry. Senator Kerry has demonstrated his courage and commitment to a stronger America throughout his entire career. President Kennedy inspired and united the country and so will John Kerry. President Bush is doing just the opposite. All of us who revere the strength and resolve of President Kennedy will be supporting John Kerry on Election Day."

I finished Ann Coulter's latest book a while ago. She had really nice things to say about John Kennedy Jr. Ann was completely believable in her tribute.

Caroline Kennedy is sadly caught up it seems in the Kennedy mystique. It is sad that she is willing to perpetuate the BS that her uncle is so famously a poster boy for.

If she said that to me, I would quote him even more frequently. I do believe her father was president of all America, not just democratic Americans.

Okay, Caroline, the truth is your father is an overrated philanderer who probably wasn't going to get re-elected, and the only thing that gave him the glowing reputation he has now is the fact that he died tragically.

And the only reason why he won in the first place was because he looked better on TV--plus a little Dem cheating helped.

Caroline----your father was a Cold Warrior and anti-Communist.

At your age, it is long past asking you to grow up, but you obviously are a spoiled child who cannot accept one PRESIDENT invoking another.

Get over it sweetie.

Then don't treat him as such. The adventure of The Brothers was a near disaster never to be repeated again if sensible people still have their say.

Hillary, clad in a gold, leopard-print, full-length evening gown designed by Oscar de la Renta (at whose villa in the Dominican Republic the Clintons had recently vacationed), was the beneficiary of an insult to first lady Laura Bush. The occasion was the swank, $3,500-a-seat gala opening in New York of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's exhibit of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis' clothing at the Costume Institute. Mrs. Bush wisely attended only the cocktail party and departed before Hillary's arrival for dinner, so presumably she did not hear honorary chairwoman Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg gratuitously hailing Hillary for having "interpreted the role of first lady for our times."

Only Rush Limbaugh hit back at Caroline with the force that she deserved. Listening to his radio show in my car on the way back from classes, I cheered loudly (as at a great football play) as Limbaugh in one of his trademark flights of Roman oratory unleashed zinger after zinger, climaxing in an electrifying indictment: Caroline, charged Limbaugh, was honoring Hillary for imitating the depressing example of her own mother, Jackie Kennedy, who "looked the other way" and allowed herself to be personally humiliated and the White House to be profaned by the adulterous antics of a crude philanderer.

Comparing John F. Kennedy to John F. Kerry is like comparing Grange Hermitage to Chateau Cardboard.

I didn't realize she was that much of a bitch. That line of DNA has certainly exhausted itself.

If JFK were alive today, he'd be a conservative on every issue except sexual morality.

That would probably be enough to keep him a democrat as a matter of cultural and identity politics, but he'd vote with us on everything else.
