By Steve Keating ST LOUIS (Reuters) - Boston Red Sox fans awoke on Wednesday with their impossible dream on the brink of becoming a reality.

Never should have traded the Babe. May the curse last another 100 years.

I won a FReeper bet last winter on the Patriot's Super Bowl win. The loser had to give the cash to Free Republic.

"Well, Liz Edwards, bless her fat little heart, is warming up in the wings...."

Come on now, this is not a thread for the holier than thou folks.

Great shot of the Troops in Iraq on FOX. Glad to know that amid all the turmoil, some Sox fans in Iraq will have reason to celebrate tonight.

After we finally seal this deal, I have a 1975 Pudge Fisk signed bat that I'm going to covertly bury a foot or so down at the heads of their tombstones (They're buried next to each other)

Sorry, Mr. Mojo. Not this time. Soon Babe Ruth will just be another dead Yankee.

St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa, right, has a word with his starting pitcher Jason Marqui during warm-ups before Game 4 of the World Series against the Boston Red Sox at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004. The Red Sox lead the series 3-0.

Cool... did you all see the video of our soldiers in Baghdad watching the Series? Love it... glad some of them get a chance to kick back and watch the game.

Did anyone get the name of that bar in NYC that is a Red Sox hangout? I missed it.

The name of the Los Angeles bar is Sonny McCleans in Santa Monica (and is featured in the movie "Still We Believe: The Boston Red Sox Movie").

She missed quite a few notes. It's out of her range.
